MIB Smithy is an application for SNMP and COPS developers, MIB and PIB designers, and Internet-draft authors. It provides a GUI-based environment for designing, editing, and compiling MIB and PIB modules according to the SMIv1, SMIv2, and COPS-PR-SPPI standards. It accelerates the development process by providing an easy-to-use GUI-based environment for developing the specifications without the syntax and formatting concerns of editing the modules by hand. It includes a number of built-in basic SNMP management tools, XML support, and (with MIB Smithy Professional) support for custom compiler output formats.
MIB Smithy SDK is a dynamic extension to Tcl/Tk (8.4+) that allows development of custom scripts for controlling SNMP agents, manipulating SMI definitions, doing conversions, and more. It is based on the core of Muonics' MIB Smithy, and the SDK supports SMIv1 and SMIv2, as well as SNMPv1/v2c/v3 with HMAC-SHA-96 and HMAC-MD5-96 authentication and DES/CBC and AES128/CFB privacy. It also provides complete read-write access to all elements of SMI/MIB Module definitions, unlike similar extensions that provide only read access to a limited subset. The SDK allows multiple discrete SMI databases and SNMP sessions, and provides all of the built-in validation and error recovery capabilites of the full product, without the visual MIB development environment.
Ganglia is a scalable distributed monitoring system for high-performance computing systems such as clusters and grids. It is based on a hierarchical design targeted at federations of clusters. Ganglia is currently in use on over 500 clusters around the world and has scaled to handle clusters with 2000 nodes.
Bandwidth Management Tools is a total bandwidth management solution for Linux and can be used for firewalling, traffic graphing, and shaping. It is not based on any currently-available bandwidth management software and supports packet queues, bursting, complex traffic flow hierarchies, flow groups, traffic logging, and a simple real-time monitoring front-end.
CRM114 is a Controllable Regex Mutilator and Smart Filter, designed for easy creation of filters for things like incoming email redirection, spam filtering, system logs, or monitoring processes. Filtering rules can be either hard-coded (such as regexes), soft-coded (calculated at runtime or read from an external file or process), or learned dynamically by phrase matching (as in Bayesian filtering, Markovian matching, Winnowing, or Hyperspatial classification). This makes it possible to create very accurate filters with very little actual work. Accuracies over 99.9% are achievable.
Geolizer is a patch for Webalizer that uses the GeoIP library to generate faster and more reliable geographic statistics than the default DNS suffix method. It is recommended that DNS reversal be disabled on your HTTP server for improved performance and more accurate statistics. It also supports country flag pictures, can be compiled under MinGW/MSYS, and features a human-readable transfer size display.
Seetxt is a lightweight text file and man page viewer for X windows. It maintains "document meta-data" for each user, allowing them to automatically keep bookmarks and highlights for read-only system files. It also has a "server mode" so that command line requests can be sent to a single running server rather than starting multiple instances. Other features include hypertext-style apropos (man page) searches, file monitoring, multi-level regular expression searching, a command history, and nice little toggle lights on the interface for the server and file monitor. There's also cross-application drag-n-drop support, and handy little features that allow you to view the output of shell commands and process the text buffer with an external command (sed, awk, grep, perl, etc.) Seetxt is POSIX compliant.
