NConf is a Web tool for configuring the Nagios monitoring software. It differs from similar tools by offering enterprise-class features like templates, dependencies, and the ability to configure a large-scale, distributed Nagios server topology. It lets you effortlessly maintain a distributed Nagios topology. It has a user-friendly GUI. It features host and service templates, a graphical dependency viewer, multiple authentication modes, a Nagios configuration importer, a CSV file importer, and a Perl database API. The data schema is customizable and expandable.
SysScope is a graphing solution that facilitates the visual representation of RRDtool's Round Robin Databases (RRD). It retrieves the graph options from an Apache-style configuration file and, after making the necessary calls to rrdgraph, it generates static or dynamic HTML pages containing the graphs. The following backends are supported for the generation of the dynamic pages: CGI, FastCGI, mod_python, and WSGI.
Advisory Check is a program that reads security advisories for you. It gathers security advisories using RSS, RDF, or XML feeds, compares them against the installed software, and alerts you if you're vulnerable. A wide variety of package managers can be queried to detect installed software. Remote systems can be monitored by using the integrated SSH, Windows-RPC, and Nmap support.
constat is an application that monitors, logs, and reports the activity of network connections present on a system. It reports sent/received traffic information for every live network device, giving you the option of displaying its output in units of kilobytes, megabytes, and gigabytes, along with the number of transmitted packets. It also includes a real time monitoring option based on a timer. Additionally, constat provides the option to view the socket table (local/remote IPs with ports they are binded to) for a specific protocol or all protocols at once. It does not require the X server.
Virt-df is a df implementation for virtual guests. The program is meant to be run on the host or dom0 to display disk space used and available on all partitions within all guests. There is no need to run any software or agent inside the guests. It is compatible with most Linux and Windows guests.
awesome-status populates the awesome window manager's widgets. It features CPU usage, date/time, lm_sensors (CPU temperature, fan RPMs, etc.), memory/swap information, mpd information, network download/upload, sound card information (volume and outgoing level), and uptime information. An example commented configuration file is included.
VncThumbnailViewer gives you the ability to connect to and watch multiple computers at the same time using the VNC protocol. It presents live thumbnail views of many computers in a single window, scaling and rescaling the views to best fit. Double-clicking on a single thumbnail allows you to enlarge it and take control of that computer's keyboard and mouse.
