Sequoia provides high availability and performance scalability for databases. It is is the continuation of the C-JDBC project. It provides transparent database clustering (partitioning, replication, etc.). It works with any Java application without code modification and with any database engine. It has been successfully tested with Tomcat, JBoss, JOnAS, WebSphere, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache Derby, HSQLDB, SAP DB, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, MS SQL Server, Firebird, and more.
FullSync is a powerful tool that helps you keep multiple copies of various data in sync. It can update your Web site using FTP and SFTP, back up your data on the local disk or refresh a working copy from a remote server on your local drive using Samba, and much more. It features multiple protocol support, flexible rules, a scheduler, and many other features that give you a solid basis for nearly all situations.
apt-got is a customizable mirror engine. It works like a highly specialized proxy. It employs several pluggable modules that are customized for specific jobs. The first available module builds and supervises a partial (or full) Debian mirror which is populated on-the-fly by apt-get requests. There is also a simple mirror module that can be used to mirror source directories or even (static) Web pages. For increased performance on already-cached files, it employes its own Apache module. It supports customized mirroring algorithms.
FDT is an application for efficient data transfers that is capable of reading and writing at disk speed over wide area networks (with standard TCP). It can be used to stream a large set of files across the network, so a large dataset composed of thousands of files can be sent or received at full speed, without the network transfer restarting between files. It is written in Java, runs an all major platforms, and is easy to use.
pkt is a universal XML packet archiver. It can manipulate files for backing up documents, transferring them across networks, emailing them, and sharing them by other means (p2p etc). It uses plugin filters to do the job and handles virtually any format available if there is a plugin for it. It handles encryption, compression, conversion, parity checking, decryption, decoding, repairing, rebuilding, and other tasks using a universal file format (XML-based). By default, all pkt output is in 7-bit ASCII which is UTF encoded and is compatible with XML parsers. pkt files can be disassembled, reassembled, and repaired by hand if necessary. pkt also supports the use of 8-bit compressed XML packets for its archives using one of several compression algorithms. In general, pkt will try to use the best algorithms available.
AntFlow builds upon Apache Ant to provide a new approach to simplifying system automation that uses pipelines of hot folders chained together to perform a given task. Using XML, it associates an automated task such as data transfer, encryption, or XML processing with a directory on the local system. Whenever a file is copied or written into the hot folder, the associated task is executed and the file is moved to the next hot folder in the pipeline for further processing.
DB Copy Plugin is a database copying plugin for the SQuirreL SQL Client. It makes it possible to copy and paste tables from one session to another and between different databases and includes primary key and foreign key constraints for copied tables, and uses Hibernate 3.0 internally to perform database object type mappings. It supports Firebird, Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server, MySQL, HyperSonic, Pointbase, and PostgreSQL, and allows the user to select a Hibernate dialect for the destination database if one couldn't be determined automatically.
