Kraken is an application for managing knowledge objects, which can be documents, remote or locally cached Web pages, personal information, todo list items, appointments, and so on. It is especially useful for researchers or students to manage their information. Users can annotate these knowledge objects with metadata, perform complex queries, and present the results as HTML pages. Kraken uses RDF as its native format, allowing its data to be easily read by external applications.

AnnotateIt! is an open source electronic response system targeted at composition instructors and students. It allows a user to annotate HTML and provides facilities for group interaction. Annotations may be either hyperlinked or inline, depending on the user's preference. It also features reporting of meta information (annotation types and counts), predefined annotations, community annotations, conversion of documents to HTML for annotation, easy document management, and an assignments calendar.
Morla is an editor of RDF documents that allows you to manage more RDF documents simultaneously, visualize graphs, and use templates for quick writing. You can import RDFS documents and use their content to write new RDF triples. Templates are also RDF documents, and they make Morla easily personalizable and expandable. You can also use Morla as an RDF navigator, browsing the RDF documents present on the Internet exactly as you are used to doing with normal browsers.
Taverna is a collection of workflow enactment and description components, including a high level language for workflows called Scufl (Simple Conceptual Unified Flow Language), a pure Java object model, parser to populate the model, and a set of views and controllers (including some Swing components to drop into your workflow-enabled applications). In order to actually run workflows you also need the myGrid workflow enactment engine.
The OMCSNet-WordNet project aims to improve the quality of the OMCSNet dataset by using automated processes to map WordNet synonym sets to OMCSNet concepts and import additional semantic linkage data from WordNet. It is based on OMCSNet 1.2, a semantic network and inference toolkit written in Python/Java. OMCSNet currently contains over 280,000 separate pieces of common sense information extracted from the raw OMCS dataset. This project is also based on WordNet, an online lexical reference system that in recent years has become a popular tool for AI researchers.
Tagsistant is a semantic filesystem for Linux and BSD kernels. It uses directories as tags and allows file tagging by simply putting files inside desired tag directories. The path you are walking by is your query, e.g. tagsistant/tag1/AND/tag2/OR/tag3/AND/tag2/. Being a low level interface, a filesystem can be instantly used by shell users, file managers, or CGI. A plug-in architecture is under development to add autotagging functionality for common files like .mp3, .ogg, .jpeg, .html, and .xml. A transparent ontology engine is also under development to allow users create a relationship schema between directories.
