SHORE (Semantic Hypertext Object Repository) is a hypertext repository that stores data about documents and data described by documents. Access to this information is provided as hypertext. The repository stores objects that appear in documents, together with their relations in a semantic net. Hypertext navigation follows these relations in the semantic net. The SHORE server works as an HTTP server, and the client is a standard Web browser. The repository uses PROLOG as its query language and the XSB system as its query engine.
The OMCSNet-WordNet project aims to improve the quality of the OMCSNet dataset by using automated processes to map WordNet synonym sets to OMCSNet concepts and import additional semantic linkage data from WordNet. It is based on OMCSNet 1.2, a semantic network and inference toolkit written in Python/Java. OMCSNet currently contains over 280,000 separate pieces of common sense information extracted from the raw OMCS dataset. This project is also based on WordNet, an online lexical reference system that in recent years has become a popular tool for AI researchers.
ConceptBase is a multi-user meta-database system based on a deductive object manager. It is mainly intended for conceptual modeling and coordination in design environments. The system implements O-Telos, a dialect of Telos that amalgamates properties of deductive and object-oriented languages.
Osprey is a peer-to-peer enabled content distribution system. It is a metadata management system for software and document collections which enables local and distributed searching of materials. Items are available for download directly via an URL or indirectly via the BitTorrent peer-to-peer protocol. Two components exist: the Osprey Web application and permaseed (permanent seed). The Web application includes metadata management for finding and exploring available content, as well as a BitTorrent tracker.
Larbin is a Web crawler intended to fetch a large number of Web pages to fill the database of a search engine. With a network fast enough, it should be able to fetch more than 100 millions pages on a standard PC. This set of PHP and Perl scripts, called webtools4larbin, can handle the output of Larbin.
Strigi is a desktop and indexer independent desktop search engine. Its main features include very fast crawling, a very small memory footprint, no hammering of the system, and pluggable backends (currently clucene and hyperestraier was provided). Communication between the daemon and search program is done over an abstract interface which is desktop independent. A small Perl program with an example of how to query the database is included along with an example KDE client application and a KIO interface.
BOUML is a UML 2 tool box that allows you to specify and generate code in C++, Java, IDL, and PHP. BOUML is very fast and doesn't require much memory to manage several thousands of classes. BOUML is extensible, and the external tools (named plug-outs) can be written in C++ or Java, using BOUML for their definition as any other program. UML models can be exported to HTML pages, including PNG or SVG graphics.
Jigsaw is an embedded data-store designed for the development of data-warehouse, analytical, and machine learning applications. Jigsaw can perform over one million operations a second, and scale to store tera-bytes of data. The object library contains classes for representing ordered and unordered mappings, highly compressed bit vectors with a range of set theoretic operators, and directly integrates a high performance sort system.
