GATE is a software package dedicated to numerical simulations in medical imaging and radiotherapy. It supports simulations of Emission Tomography (Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT)), Computed Tomography (CT), and Radiotherapy experiments. It makes it easy to use existing Monte Carlo simulation packages according to the requirements of a simulation. It allows accurate description of time-dependent phenomena such as source or detector movement and source decay kinetics. It includes well-validated physics models, geometry modeling tools accommodating complex scanner geometries, models for detector electronic response, and efficient visualization utilities. Modelling of CT scans and calculation of dose can also be performed.
Devices for the measurement of signals use different data formats to store the data on disk. libRASCH provides a common application programming interface to access such signals, regardless of which storage format is used. Additionally, it provides support for processing (e.g. detects beats in an ECG) and viewing the signals. This functionality and the access to the various file formats is realized with plugins.
OsiriX is an image processing software dedicated to DICOM images produced by medical equipment (such as MRI, CT, PET, and PET-CT) and confocal microscopy (LSM and BioRAD-PIC format). It can also read many other file formats: TIFF, JPEG, PDF, AVI, MPEG, and Quicktime. OsiriX is able to receive images transferred by DICOM communication protocol from any PACS or medical imaging modality. OsiriX has been specifically designed for navigation and visualization of multimodality and multidimensional images.
MeVisLab is a platform for image processing research and development with a focus on medical imaging. It allows fast integration and testing of new algorithms and the development of application prototypes that can be used in clinical environments. Beside general image processing algorithms and visualization tools, MeVisLab includes advanced medical imaging modules for segmentation, registration, volumetry, and quantitative morphological and functional analysis.
Renal Growth is a tool for radiologists and paediatricians to plot renal length and volume measurements against nomograms for age and weight. It allows for multiple observations from birth to 13 years. Individual patient data files can be stored and reused. Length and volume charts can be exported as JPEG files for importing into a PACS system or other clinical record.
