Genius is an arbitrary precision integer and multiple precision floating point calculator. It includes its own programming language similar in some aspects to C, bc, or Pascal. It can deal with rational numbers and complex numbers. It has matrix support as well. It uses the gmp library so it is very fast for calculations of large numbers. It has a command line and a GNOME interface. The GNOME interface supports plotting functions and 3D surfaces.
DigitizeIt digitizes scanned graphs and charts. Graphs can be loaded in nearly all common image formats (including gif, tiff, jpeg, bmp, png, psd, pcx, xbm, xpm, tga, pct), pasted from the clipboard, or imported via a screenshot. Digitizing of line and scatter plots occurs automatically, and manual digitizing via mouse clicks is also possible. Data values are transformed to a specified axes system and can be saved in ASCII format, ready to use in many other applications such as Microcal Origin or Excel. Axes can be linear, logarithmic, or reciprocal scale. Multiple data sets can be defined and edited. Tilted and distorted graphs can be handled. Comprehensive online help is included. Java 1.4 is required.

num-utils are a set of programs for dealing with numbers from the Unix command line. Much like the other command line utilities grep, awk, sort, cut, etc. these utilities work on numeric data from both standard in and data from files. The base utilities currently included are average, bound, interval, numgrep, numprocess, numsum, random, range, and round. If you work with pipelines on the command line, these tools will prove to be helpful.
