textslides generates a set of HTML slides from a single plain text file. The output can be used for a presentation or for a web site. You may find textslides useful if you need to create a presentation for a technical audience and you would like to use a text editor to create the presentation content. A simple set of formatting rules governs the translation of the textfile into HTML. The formatting rules for the textfile were inspired by the Wiki Website. textslides uses the Wpager.pm module from the htmlslides project.
The Perl Embedding Engine is a Perl-based template engine that allows embedded Perl code in HTML templates similar to PHP, JSP, etc. It is simple, flexible, and easy-to-use, and supports 2 modes of operation: offline generation and dynamic interpretation. Unlike many template engines, it only has 3 special tags so parsing is a breeze and it generates plain Perl code.
The Guava tools are a set of Perl scripts for HTML pre-processing. You can create multi-page documents with contents tables, or use templates to give a consistent look to a set of pages. All output is passed through the C preprocessor, so you can use directives such as #include, #define and #if. There are also built-in macros for producing dates, cross references, etc.
X-Tract is an XML Script processor. XML Script is a fully XML compliant language, specifically designed for handling XML data. XML Script is more powerful than XSL, and can perform many XSL functions more efficiently. X-Tract can be used on the command line, or can be run from a web server to handle CGI queries.
WEEDS is a Java 1.1 application which converts XML files describing written to "limon.dtd" to an HTML-formatted flora. We wrote weeds to make our own flora of 32 plants we observed in the Dominican Republic, but we believe WEEDS would be immediately useful for anyone who wants to make a flora. Also, the design and much of the code could be adapted to many other applications such as online catalogs.
