Vanguard provides enterprise class anti-virus and anti-spam protection to multiple internal mail servers, including the Gordano Messaging Suite, Microsoft Exchange, and IBM Lotus Notes/Domino. Dual anti virus scanning engines provide both traditional signature based virus protection and advanced Zero Hour protection. Any number of internal servers can be protected from a single Vanguard server. Each of those servers may be servicing the same Internet domain, separate Internet domains, or even multiple Internet domains on a single server. There is no limit to the number of protected domains or message throughput.
Java SMTP Mail Component provides an easy API to send email from an application. The API has option to send emails directly to the recipients mail server without a relaying mail server. Plain authentication is supported for mail server authentication. Mail attachments are supported using MIME.
saop adds authentication to any SMTP server by using a POP3 or IMAP4 server as the authentication backend. To do so, it sits in the middle of an SMTP session and intercepts login attempts. It then captures the user and password and authenticates against a POP3 server, an IMAP4 server, or a password list.
pb.WebMAUI (Web-Mail Administration User Interface) is a Web-based administration tool for managing complex mail domains, mail user accounts, server-based filtering including "out-of-office mail replies", and mail-related tasks. User quota managment is supported as well. Currently, the Courier mail suite is used, but support for other MTAs is planned.
Maverix is an AOLserver module that implements the SMTP protocol and acts as an SMTP proxy with anti-spam and anti-virus capabilities. Supported anti-spam software includes SpamAssassin and DSPAM, and supported anti-virus software packages are ClamAV and Sophos. Features include whitelisting, greylisting, and blacklisting, periodic digests with quarantined messages, a challenge/response mechanism, POP-auth, and short-TTL URLs for digests.
Dkfilter is a DomainKeys implementation for the Postfix mail transfer agent. It is implemented as two filters (or SMTP proxies). There is an "outbound" filter for adding DomainKeys signatures to outgoing email and an "inbound" filter for verifying signatures of incoming email. The filters can be plugged into Postfix as either Before-Queue or After-Queue Postfix content filters. For more information about DomainKeys, see http://antispam.yahoo.com/domainkeys.
asceticsmtp.py is a very minimal "ascetic" SMTP relay-only mail transport agent. It's intended to be used in conjunction with the mutt mail client to provide SMTP mail transport services. It accepts a mail stream on standard input with recipients specified on the command-line, and forwards the message to a given mailhub. SMTP authentication and SSL transport layer security is supported for recent enough Python libraries.
