CryptEngine is a fast 3D engine for Java. It is based on OpenGL and provides components and objects allowing the description and rendering of 3D scenes. Unlike several other 3D engines, it focuses on rapid application development and makes it possible to create and render complex 3D scenes without having to learn OpenGL. A large collection of demos are included, demonstrating the many features and providing you with valuable design techniques and tricks. It also facilitates game design with a sound system, scripting, and networking.
Radzilla is an advanced lighting simulation system. It is based on Radiance, but features additional extensions and a GUI. It is targeted mainly to Radiance users who are a bit more courageous about new features and optimizations and to those who would like to enjoy the power of Radiance but have been afraid of its pure command-line interface so far. Radzilla tries to stay as compatible as possible with "classic" Radiance. Even many tools and files from the classic distribution are used.
view3dscene is a browser for VRML (1.0 and 2.0) and X3D, and a viewer for other 3D model formats (3DS, MD3, Wavefront OBJ, and Collada are handled). It supports viewing the scene in the "Examine" mode and walking in the virtual world with features such as collision detection and gravity. Rendering is done using OpenGL. Many advanced 3D graphic effects are available, like mirrors (flat and through cube environment mapping), shadows (shadow maps and shadow volumes), GLSL shaders and more. The program can also convert files from 3DS, MD3, Collada and other formats to X3D and pretty-print VRML and X3D files.
Equalizer is middleware for creating and deploying parallel OpenGL-based applications. It enables applications to benefit from multiple graphics cards, processors, and computers to scale rendering performance, visual quality, and display size. An Equalizer-based application runs unmodified on any visualization system, from a simple workstation to large scale graphics clusters, multi-GPU workstations, and Virtual Reality installations.
The Second Life Viewer is the client for logging into the Second Life 3-D virtual world, where residents explore, purchase virtual land, open businesses, build real estate, and create scripted objects such as cars, robots, or magic wands. Second Life residents retain full intellectual property rights for the digital content they create and upload, including avatar characters, clothing, scripts, textures, objects, and designs.
GLCaml is an Objective Caml interface for OpenGL versions 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.1, plus extensions. It is intended as a compact drop-in binding. It is a direct, dynamic binding to OpenGL. An OCaml SDL binding is provided as well, along with texture-map scaling functions, texture mip-map generators, and a bitmapped font library. Extensive documentation and more than 20 examples are provided.
Sauerbraten (a.k.a. Cube 2) is a free multiplayer/single player first person shooter, built as a major redesign of the Cube FPS. Much like the original Cube, the aim of this game is not necessarily to produce the most features and eye candy possible, but rather to allow map/geometry editing to be done dynamically in-game, to create fun gameplay and an elegant engine.
