GWintree is a GEDCOM-based genealogy program. It provides facilities to record, view, edit, and merge genealogy data, and to produce genealogy charts, family trees, and reports in a range of formats, including HTML. Charts can show all relatives, ancestors only, or descendants only. HTML charts allow you to click on a person in your HTML report to see where they are on the chart. Automatic matching and merging of genealogy data between files is supported.
The C++ Portable Types Library (PTypes) is a simple alternative to the STL that includes multithreading and networking. It defines dynamic strings, character sets, variants, lists and other basic data types along with threads, synchronization primitives and IP sockets. It is portable across modern Unix and Windows systems and includes a sample HTTP daemon showing the full power of the library.
TCLP is a type checker for Prolog dialects. It is written in SICStus Prolog. Its goal is to statically trap programming errors like illegal arguments used in a call for a predicate or illegally built data structures with respect to a given typing for function symbols or predicates. TCLP is also capable of type inference for user predicates. Supported dialects include ISO-Prolog, GNU-Prolog, and SICStus Prolog.
LFT (Layer Four Traceroute) is a sort of "traceroute" that often works much faster than the commonly-used Van Jacobson method and goes through many configurations of packet-filter based firewalls. More importantly, LFT implements numerous other features, including TCP, UDP, or ICMP-based traces, AS number lookups through several reliable sources, loose source routing, netblock name lookups, and more. LFT also distinguishes between layer-4 protocols, which make its statistics slightly more realistic, and gives a savvy user the ability to trace protocol routes, not just layer-3 hops.
Jpgtn generates smaller JPEGs from larger ones. It can work in batches and create new files with names based on the names of the source files. It can dump a single thumbnail to stdout for use with pipelines or CGI programs. Thumbnail size and quality can be controlled by switches on the command line. There is no maximum "thumbnail" size, so it can be useful for creating images suitable for web publishing from very large images such as those taken with a good digicam.
