libconfig is a compact, portable library for reading, manipulating, and writing structured configuration files. The library includes bindings for both the C and C++ languages, and works on Linux, Mac OS X, and other POSIX-compliant operating systems, as well as Windows. A complete manual with API documentation is included.
collectd is a small and modular daemon which collects system information periodically and provides means to store the values. Included in the distribution are numerous plug-ins for collecting CPU, disk, and memory usage, network interface and DNS traffic, network latency, database statistics, and much more. Custom statistics can easily be added in a number of ways, including execution of arbitrary programs and plug-ins written in Perl. Advanced features include a powerful network code to collect statistics for entire setups and SNMP integration to query network equipment.

Emdros is a corpus query system for storing and searching linguistically annotated text. It is very generic, supporting almost any kind of annotation from almost any linguistic theory. All linguistic levels of analysis are supported, including phonology, morphology, the lexical level, syntax, and discourse. The core libraries act as a middleware layer between a client and an underlying SQL database. MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite are supported.
GKrellM is a GTK-based stacked monitor program that charts SMP CPUs, disks, load, active net interfaces, and internet connections. There are also builtin monitors for memory and swap, file systems with mount/umount feature, mailbox checking including POP3 and IMAP, clock/calendar, laptop battery, sensors (temperatures, voltages, and fans), and uptime. It has LEDs for the net monitors and an on/off button and online timer for PPP. There is a GUI popup for configuration, plugin extensions can be installed, and many themes are available. It also features a client/server monitoring capability.
headstak is a stack-based task list. Before you start a task, or when you are interrupted while working on a task, you push the current job onto a stack. When the interruption finishes, or when the task is complete, you pop it from the stack - leaving you facing the job you were working on beforehand at the top of the stack. Run it and it should appear on your status bar as a little stack of stuff on a head. It is activated with the Control-Command-0 global hotkey.
