The Internet Document And Report Server (IDRS) is a full Web development platform. All pages are built using an XML like dialect called the Reporting Markup Language (RML), can be generated using data from any JDBC complient database, and mostly require no programming logic. For reports that do require programming logic, RML pages can also use external Java classes and embedded JPython and BeanShell scripts for a higher level of control. Features of the IDRS include user-based security, data connection pooling for use by both the central IDRS system and by individual reports, and multiple databases to be used for each report and JSP.
MCS MyRoute helps diagnose connectivity problems with detailed network routing discovery and analysis, providing visibility to poor-performing networks and devices. It includes a Java applet that enables remote users to easily test connections from the MyRoute server. Essential diagnostic tools including traceroute, ping, reverse DNS, and whois are combined into a single graphical interface that analyzes Internet connections, reporting quick and essential data points for finding connectivity problems. An IP location database identifies the geographical location of IP addresses and Web servers, showing the path of an Internet connection on a global map.
Webplay creates, from a collection of MP3s and Ogg Vorbis files (indexed from a directory or MySQL/PostgreSQL database), a Web-based jukebox with support for multiple independent streams. If Lame/oggenc are available, it can change the bitrate or codec of a file in real time to a selectable value. Each user controls their stream via a Web interface and can skip back, forward, or to a specific track; increment or decrement the bitrate; and check the current playlist, song, or bitrate. Playlists can be looped, randomized, played locally on the webserver, edited, deleted, reused, or renamed.
JH2N (Java host to named conversion program) converts a hosts file to a full BIND 8 or 9 configuration. JH2N was inspired by the h2n.pl program included in the O'Reilly "DNS and BIND" book. Various options are available to enhance its operation by incuding external files. Using the simple host file syntax, very large and complex zones can be maintained.
Open Simp-X is a powerful Internet platform for everyone, attempting to change programming for the Internet with sharing database information. It strives for scalablility, reliability, and ease of use. The platform consists of a client/server pair. Security is a top priority, and data transfers are encrypted. Open Simp-X achieves scalability through plugins. Plugins can collect information, manipulate it, and send it back to the database. Writing plugins is easy since they do not have to worry about how to send or receive their information, and can focus on manipulating it. Open Simp-X can be set up to retreive data through a LAN or through a Web server.
