Launch4j is a cross-platform tool for wrapping Java applications distributed as jars in Windows native executables. The executable can be configured to search for a certain JRE version or use a bundled one, and it's possible to set runtime options, like the initial/max heap size. The wrapper also provides better user experience through an application icon, a native pre-JRE splash screen, and a Java download page in case the appropriate JRE cannot be found. The increase in size of the application is small.
white_dune is a graphical VRML97/X3DV editor, simple NURBS/Superformula 3D modeller, animation tool, and VRML97/X3DV commandline compiler in development. VRML97 (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) is the ISO standard for displaying 3D data over the Web via browser plugins ("HTML for realtime 3D"). X3DV is the direct successor of VRML97. VRML97 and X3DV have support for animation, real-time interaction, and multimedia (images, movies, and sounds). white_dune can read, create, and display VRML97/X3DV files and let the user change the scenegraph/fields. It also has support for stereoscopic view via "quadbuffer"-capable stereo visuals, and support for 3D input devices like a joystick, spaceball, or magnetic tracker.
JarBuilder allows programmers to easily create jar files. It is written in Java, providing a nice Swing GUI. Although it isn't programmed as a classic wizard, Java programmers are able to build their own jar files with JarBuilder in three steps. First, you selected the files you want to include in the jar file, then you load or write your manifest file (JarBuilder can do an automatic search for main classes for you and add the correct statement to the manifest file). Finally, you select the compression level of the jar file, and JarBuilder creates the file for you.
The Native FileMaker Barcode Generator Plug-In is a FileMaker extension that may be easily inserted into a FileMaker report to create bar code images. Once implemented, no other components or fonts need to be installed to create barcodes. The plug-in provides formulas that, when displayed in a report, create a barcode image from an already installed system font. Supported symbologies include Code 128 (Sets A, B, C, and Auto), Code 39, GS1-128, Codabar, MSI Plessey, UCC/EAN-128, and Interleaved 2 of 5.
FitNesse Maven Classpath Plugin is a Maven2 plugin that collects the dependencies of the entire project, including its sub-modules. After resolving the artifacts, it generates the classpath and inserts it into the Fitnesse test suites, thus solving the problem of maintaining the correct classpath in FitNesse.
Assimilate is a Maven2 plugin that allows developers to import dependencies from other pre-built Maven projects without a formal parent-child hierarchy existing between the projects. There is no limit to the number of project dependencies. Maven 2.0.9's "import" scope acts not on managed dependencies, but on those declared in the dependency management section of the imported pom file. Assimilate, in contrast, is designed to act on managed dependencies of any prebuilt Maven project (stored in the local repository), as though they were declared in the local project's managed dependency section.
JExpress is a Java installer builder and auto-updater. It gives you your choice of a standalone installer, including both native and cross platform installers and updaters for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and Solaris, or a Java Web Start one-click install. You create your installer quickly with your choice of a simple wizard or a powerful advanced interface, both included. You can bundle the exact JVM you want with your installer. The auto-updater gives you a continuous revenue stream after the sale. Your software is always up-to-date, so your customers have fewer problems. You also get all the features you expect in a top end installer. Your Java application becomes a native program just like any other. On Windows it's an EXE, on Mac OS X an app bundle, etc. If you need something really special, you can customize your installer by adding simple Java classes. You can even get a source license at a reasonable price.
