Downloadermac is a Cocoa application for downloading items from the Internet. It frees up your browser for other tasks by reducing the load on your Web browser's process by creating a thread just for downloading items.(e.g. firefox-bin, safari). It is tested on both Panther (10.3.9) and Leopard (10.5).
Notational Velocity is a Mac OS X desktop application that stores and retrieves notes. The same area is used both for creating notes and searching. I.e., in the process of entering the title for a new note, related notes appear below, letting users file information there if they choose. Likewise, if a search reveals nothing, one need simply press return to create a note with the appropriate title.

BackPlay a program that plays music files from a folder in the background. headstak is a stack-based task list. Before you start a task, or when you are interrupted while working on a task, you push the current job onto a stack. When the interruption finishes, or when the task is complete, you pop it from the stack - leaving you facing the job you were working on beforehand at the top of the stack. Run it and it should appear on your status bar as a little stack of stuff on a head. It is activated with the Control-Command-0 global hotkey.
