LibRaw is a library for reading RAW files obtained from digital photo cameras (CRW/CR2, NEF, RAF, DNG, and others). LibRaw is based on the source codes of the dcraw utility, though some of the drawbacks of dcraw have been eliminated. The users of the library are provided with an API to be used when writing their software programs.
ExactScan is a versatile document capture application for home offices and workgroups. It is designed from the ground up for high-speed document scanners and can easily handle hundreds of images per minute, including duplex scans. Included functionality reaches from managing, sorting, and editing singles pages to writing multi- as well as single-page PDF files including JPEG compression and TIFF, JPEG, JPEG2000, and PNG bitmap files. ExactScan allows performing state of the art image processing including automatic cropping, deskewing, dynamic thresholding for perfect black and white documents, and descreening print rasters.
Exiv2 is a C++ library and a command line utility for managing image metadata. It provides fast and easy read and write access to the Exif, IPTC, and XMP metadata of images in many formats. The Exiv2 command line utility prints Exif, IPTC, and XMP metadata including Makernote tags in various formats, adjusts Exif timestamps, renames images according to the Exif timestamp, extracts and inserts Exif, IPTC, and XMP metadata and JPEG comments, or deletes the thumbnail or a specific type of metadata from an image.
libCVD is a very portable and high performance C++ library for computer vision, image, and video processing. The emphasis is on providing simple and efficient image and video handling and high quality implementations of common low-level image processing function. The library is designed in a loosely-coupled manner, so that parts can be used easily in isolation if the whole library is not required. The video grabbing module provides a simple, uniform interface for videos from a variety of sources (live and recorded) and allows easy access to the raw pixel data. Likewise, the image loading/saving module provides simple, uniform interfaces for loading and saving images from bitmaps to 64 bit per channel RGBA images. The image processing routines can be applied easily to images and video, and accelerated versions exist for platforms supporting SSE.
Engauge Digitizer is digitizing software that converts an image showing a graph or map into numbers. The image file can come from a scanner, digital camera, or screenshot. The numbers can be read on the screen, and written or copied to a spreadsheet. Highlights for beginners include an intuitive interface and extensive context-sensitive documentation. Highlights for experts include compensation for image distortion, cartesian and polar coordinates, linear and logarithmic coordinates, automatic scanning, graphical previews, and browser help.
Bibble is a professional image-manipulation application for processing of raw photos from digital cameras. It provides a fast and high quality raw workflow. It features a fully integrated browser, user configurable tools/views, powerful batch processing, raw optimized printing, a flexible renaming system, advanced settings for copy and paste, IPTC meta-data support, and tethered shooting.
DVD-Baker generates a DVD consisting of menus and slideshows from a picture collection stored in a Menalto Gallery G2 Web site or in a locally stored directory tree. Each "leaf" album (an album that does not contain sub-albums) is used to create a slideshow. The slideshows (and any DVD-ready MPEG videos) are made accessible on the DVD with menus that follow the structure of the Web site or directories. Extra features include random or sequential autoplay, and audio support. Since dvd-slideshow is used to produce each slideshow, it supports effects such as crossfades, crops, and 'Ken Burns' effects.
