QOF (Query Object Framework), provides a set of C Language utilities for performing generic structured complex queries on a set of data held by a set of C/C++ objects. This framework is unique in that it does not require SQL or any database at all to perform the query. Thus, it allows programmers to add query support to their applications without having to hook into an SQL database.
SDE for NetBeans is a UML modeling environment tightly integrated with NetBeans. It lets you draw all types of UML diagrams (use case diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram, activity diagram, etc.) in NetBeans, reverse source code (Java, C++, XML, XML Schema, CORBA IDL, etc.) to UML models, and generate Java source from UML diagrams. It features a Rational Rose importer, an XMI importer, HTML/PDF documentation generators, and plug-in and template support.
Zoidcom is a high level, UDP based game networking library for C/C++. Applications register their gameobjects with Zoidcom, and Zoidcom will manage when which object and which internal data of that object is sent to whom. It uses bitstreams as a native datatype and thus is very bandwidth efficient. Support for background file transfers, synchronization of player movement with extrapolation and client side prediction, and many other things are included.
Babel is an IDL-based language interoperability tool specific to engineering and scientific applications. It allows Fortran 77, Fortran 90, C, C++, Java, and Python to call each other in a single address space for maximum performance. Babel won a 2006 R&D 100 award from R&D Magazine.
Ice is a modern alternative to object middleware such as CORBA or COM/DCOM/COM+. It is easy to learn, yet provides a powerful network infrastructure for demanding technical applications. It features an object-oriented specification language, easy to use C++ and Java mappings, a highly efficient protocol (including protocol compression), asynchronous method invocation and dispatch, dynamic transport plug-ins, TCP/IP and UDP/IP support, SSL-based security, a firewall solution, and much more.
Channel is a C++ template framework for distributed message passing and event dispatching. Its major components (message IDs, routing algorithms...) are highly configurable as template parameters. As a namespace shared by peer threads, channels support publish/subscribe scope control, message filtering, and translation.
MynahSA is a cross-platform toolkit for connecting C++ objects to data streams. Developers using MynahSA can quickly and easily create client/server applications or encrypted files containing serialized object data. The toolkit uses OpenSSL for encryption and secure network communications. MynahSA is tested on Linux, Microsoft Windows, Apple's Mac OS X, and Sun's Solaris.
The Interreality project is a collection of Open Source, Free Software projects based on the Virtual Object System (VOS) platform. The goal is to develop a free and open platform for multi-user 3D virtual reality games, applications, and interactive, collaborative 3D virtual spaces. VOS is a powerful and generic network object framework designed to support a variety of high-performance applications. It is the basis for Ter'Angreal, a general-purpose browser application for entering and participating in 3D worlds.
