Ostinato is a network packet and traffic generator and analyzer with a friendly GUI. It aims to be "Wireshark in Reverse" and thus become complementary to Wireshark. It features custom packet crafting with editing of any field for several protocols: Ethernet, 802.3, LLC SNAP, VLAN (with Q-in-Q), ARP, IPv4, IPv6, IP-in-IP a.k.a IP Tunneling, TCP, UDP, ICMPv4, ICMPv6, IGMP, MLD, HTTP, SIP, RTSP, NNTP, etc. It is useful for both functional and performance testing.
Hypercube is a tool for visualizing DOT (graphviz), GML, GraphML, GXL and simple text-based graph representations as SVG and EPS images. It comes with a Qt-based GUI application and a Qt-independent commandline tool. It uses a simulated annealing algorithm to lay out the graph, which can be easily parameterized to achieve the desired look. The main development goals are portability and easy usage rather than high performance and complexity.
HeldenViewer makes it possible to search for, download, and view Youtube videos in a very easy to use fashion. An important feature is the concept of adding authors as favorites, in order to be notified at the next start of HeldenViewer if the author has uploaded a new video. You will no longer be interrupted by any commercials. Much like the Youtube platform, you can watch the videos while downloading and use your favorite videoplayer to do this. The only restriction is that the video player must be able to play .flv files, e.g. VideoLanClient.
Quassel IRC is a modern, cross-platform, distributed IRC client, meaning that one or more clients can attach to and detach from a central core, much like the popular combination of screen and a text-based IRC client, but graphical. In addition to this unique feature, it aims to be a comfortable chatting program.
The cdcat is a graphical (Qt based) multi-platform catalog program that scans the directories/drives you want and memorizes the filesystem (including the tags of MP3s) and stores it in a small file. The database is stored in a gzipped XML format, so you can hack it, or use it if necessary. Cdcat can store the contents of some specified files up to a size limit if you want (for example: *.nfo).
Wally is a Qt4 wallpaper changer using multiple sources like files, folders, FTP remote folders, Flickr, Yahoo!, Panoramio, Ipernity, Photobucket, Buzznet, Picasa, Smugmug, Google, Vladstudio, and deviantART images. It is available in many languages. Supported Linux window managers are GNOME, GnomeShell, KDE3, KDE4, XFCE4, BlackBox, FluxBox, Window Maker, and FVWM (experimental).
PortaBase is a database program for creating, browsing, and editing single-table data files. Notable features include the ability to change the columns at any time, views of column subsets, multi-column sorting, multi-condition filtering, CSV import and export, XML import and export, and column summary statistics. Typical uses are media inventories, reference charts, shopping lists, and TODO lists.
Gerbil consists of an interactive visualization tool targeted at multispectral and hyperspectral image data, and a toolbox of common algorithms, e.g. for segmentation. Multispectral imaging has been gaining popularity and has been gradually applied to many fields besides remote sensing. However, due to the high dimensionality of the data, both human observers and computers have difficulty interpreting this wealth of information. Gerbil facilitates the visualization of the relationship between spectral and topological information in a novel fashion. It puts emphasis on the spectral gradient, which is shown to provide enhanced information for many reflectance analysis tasks. It also includes a rich toolbox for evaluation of image segmentation and other algorithms in the multispectral domain. The parallel coordinates visualization technique is combined with hashing for a highly interactive visual connection between spectral distribution, spectral gradient, and topology.
