BSF4ooRexx is a Java language binding for the scripting language ooRexx. It allows ooRexx programmers to directly use the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) libraries. It allows, for example, implementation of Java methods in ooRexx and callbacks from Java to ooRexx. It camouflages Java so that it resembles ooRexx by being dynamically typed and caseless. BSF4ooRexx comes with built-in support for programming OpenOffice.org/LibreOffice.org and allows ooRexx to be used as a macro language.
Babel is an IDL-based language interoperability tool specific to engineering and scientific applications. It allows Fortran 77, Fortran 90, C, C++, Java, and Python to call each other in a single address space for maximum performance. Babel won a 2006 R&D 100 award from R&D Magazine.
Berkeley DB XML is a native XML database engine for use within your product. Made available as a C++ library with language bindings for Java, Perl, Python, PHP, and Tcl, it integrates directly into your application (it is not a standalone database server). It provides XQuery access into a database of document containers. XML documents are stored and indexed in their native format using Berkeley DB as the transactional database engine.
BlackRay is a relational database system designed to offer performance features commonly associated with search engines. It offers SQL support and sophisticated operational and management features. Load-balancing and operational stability by means of N+1 redundance are included. BlackRay is called a "Data Engine" since it combines traditional, relational database features and SQL with the power and flexibility of search engines. It is a true hybrid, offering transaction support, data-versioned snapshots, and sophisticated function-based indices. Wildcards, phonetic, and fuzzy logic searches are supported, as well. BlackRay supports a subset of the SQL92 standard and provides JDBC/ODBC/native driver options via the PostgreSQL protocol, in addition to an API based query option. The project is released under the GPLv2, with some drivers available under BSD-style licenses. Commercial support contracts are available as well.
Cassandra is a scientific data viewer based on VTK. Cassandra provides dynamic interaction with the VTK pipeline and enables the user to load plug-ins dynamically in order to perform specific tasks in data manipulation and visualisation. Cassandra is open and modular, and can easily be extended to new filters through a set of dynamically loadable plug-ins. A plug-in template is provided to help users to develop and share their own plug-ins. This approach allows users to perform complex filtering without any specific knowledge of VTK or C++.
Charm++ is a portable adaptive runtime system for parallel applications. Application developers create an object-based decomposition of the problem of interest, and the runtime system manages issues of communication, mapping, load balancing, fault tolerance, and more. Sequential code implementing the methods of these parallel objects is written in C++. Calls to libraries in C++, C, and Fortran are common and straightforward. DSSH was written as a direct replacement for the OpenSSH client. It adds SSH over SSH tunneling capabilities (for example, to log in to a network hidden by a firewall), scripting support (using BeanShell), an advanced agent (which allows storing of passwords) and "su -" interactive logging for machines that have disabled direct root login. All of this was done to enable automated scripting and logging to many machines based on a few simple rules.
