timeplotters is a collection of command line tools for visualizing temporal data. It is especially useful for visualizing data from ad-hoc program logs, helping you to spot patterns and anomalies that you would not otherwise see by just watching how the program works or by looking at the logs with the naked eye. Its input format is tailored to event types typically seen in program logs, and the visualization methods are tailored to the questions typically asked about program performance (e.g. distribution of activity durations).
Inspired by dd5sum, ddsum includes the following features: support for md5, sha1, sha224, sha256, sha384 and sha512 (plus any additional digests provided by OpenSSL); the ability to read source data and write it out while computing a message digest; the ability to compute multiple message digests with one pass of the source data; and the ability to verify that a message digest matches the data you have.
The p2pd package can be used to build scalable content distribution networks (CDNs) for interactive video-on-demand (VoD) streaming. It can be used as a server, a cache, and a client, and used to construct both traditional CDNs and P2P-based CDNs that make use of client resources to stream video files. The system is network aware, attempts to make efficient use of the available resources, and adapts to server failures.
