JobRunner is a tool designed to run a job (i.e., to execute a commandline or script) which does not require user interaction, and to store the program's output (standard error and standard out) in an easy-to-read log file. It is able to save a configuration file of the job to be run, which can be used by JobRunner_Caller as a lightweight queueing system. See the Primer included in the archive for extra details on usage examples.
bash argsparse is a high-level argument parsing library for bash. Its purpose is to replace the option parsing and usage describing functions commonly rewritten in all scripts. Its features include automatic help message generation, user input checking (type checking, enumerations, etc.), and option properties (mandatory options, option aliases, options excluding each others, etc.). It is implemented for bash version 4. Prior versions of bash will fail at interpreting the code.
JavaAutotoolsExample is an example of a Java Swing program that uses GNU Gettext, Autoconf, Automake, Make, and Java JNI. JavaAutotoolsExample is intended to help Java developers and maintainers make their full-featured Java programs respect the standard "./configure && make && sudo make install" procedure for build and installation.
Backshift is a deduplicating (variable-sized, content-based blocks), compressing (xz or bz2) backup program. Full saves and incrementals are pretty indistinct other than the amount of data transmitted, somewhat like with "rsync --link-dest" but without the huge number of hardlinks. It also de-duplicates large file content at a granularity of about 2 megabytes on average; there tends to be a unique copy of each file with size less than around 2 megabytes on average.
autodl-irssi is an advanced and easy to use torrent file downloader plugin for Irssi. The optional ruTorrent plugin (GUI) makes it even easier to use. The installer will set everything up. It works by connecting to your torrent tracker's IRC announce channel. You tell it exactly which IRC servers and channels to connect to and it does the rest. When a new torrent is announced, and matches one of the user filters, it's immediately downloaded. There's no delay like RSS, which polls once every 5-15 minutes. Once downloaded, the torrent file can be saved to a torrent client watch directory, sent to rtorrent, or uploaded to an FTP server. It supports more than 70 private trackers, and it's very easy to add your own if you know some basic XML and regular expressions. The filters are easy to set up, but also advanced. Some of the filters are release name, TV show name, torrent size, resolution, encoder, source, year, format, bitrate, medium, category, and many more. To prevent you from accidentally downloading too many files at once, you can also tell it to only allow X number of downloads per day, week, or month.
HeaderCleaner is a small SMTP server plugin that will only allow a set of predefined headers in an outgoing email message and will strip all other headers from the message. This is meant to improve your privacy and better protect the mail handling server. This version is made for Communigate-Pro, but can be adapted for other systems.
Meep is a free finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulation software package to model electromagnetic systems. It supports distributed-memory parallel simulations, nonlinear, anisotropic, and dispersive media, PML absorbing boundaries, and 1D/2D/3D and cylindrical problems. It is completely scriptable from either C++ or a Scheme (GNU Guile) interface.
