Nagstamon is a Nagios status monitor with a UI that resides in the systray or as a floating statusbar on your desktop. It informs you in realtime about the status of your Nagios, Icinga, Opsview, Ninja, Check_MK/Multisite, or Centreon monitored network. It alerts you with sound and visual notification. Failed hosts and services are easy to connect with by SSH, RDP, and VNC. It works best with GNOME, but also with KDE and Windows.
justniffer is a TCP packet sniffer. It captures TCP packets, reassembles and reorders them, performs IP packet defragmentation and displays the TCP flow in the standard output. It is useful for logging HTTP network traffic in a "standard" (Web server like) or in a customized way. It can log the performance of network services (such as Web server response time or keep-alive behavior). It can be extended by scripts. One is provided for storing all captured HTTP content (such as images, JavaScript, CSS, or HTML) into files.
RRDutil is a a tool to collect statistics (typically every 5 minutes) from multiple servers, store the values in RRD databases (using RRDtool), and plot out pretty graphs to a Web server on demand. The graph types shown include CPU, memory, disk (space and I/O), Apache, MySQL queries and query types, email, Web hits, and more.
SimMon is a cross platform monitoring tool which runs on almost any OS that supports the Java Virtual Machine 1.4+. Monitoring is done through the execution of existing monitoring scripts (Perl/VBS) or existing shell commands. Currently monitoring scripts are available for Solaris, Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows based systems. Network devices can be monitored via the integrated SNMPv1 scheduler.
ICPLD (Internet Connection Performance Logging Daemon) is a connection monitor that sends ICMP requests to IP addresses of your choice and monitors if your machine has a working network connection. It logs failed attempts to reach the hosts, and will stamp a log as soon as a reply is received. It keeps track of when and for how long the connection was unavailable and records both total down time and each occasion of interrupted connection. It supports IPv6 and can execute a command whenever a connection goes up or down, which is useful for alerting users.
