XiX Music Player is a music player for MP3, Ogg, and FLAC files. It is easy to create and maintain your own playlists. There is an integrated lyric viewer that searches for the lyric of the song you are listening to. If the CD cover is found, it is also shown. You can also rip CD tracks to MP3 or FLAC. Listening to your favorite online radio stations is also possible. The focus is on having fast control of all your music.
Mylene is a command line MPEG audio player. It can play plain and system embedded MPEG audio streams and works for Linux OSS and ALSA emulated OSS and Mac OS X. The player can be used interactively by telling it to establish a UNIX or INET server on which commands can be received. It features sophisticated song selection filters, the ability to interpret programs written in a C-like programming language and user formatted text output among others. The seek-h262 MPEG decoder is required for audio and system MPEG decoding.
irrKlang is a high level 2D and 3D cross platform sound engine and audio library that plays WAV, MP3, OGG, MOD, XM, IT, S3M, and other file formats. It can be used by C++ and all .NET languages (C#, Visual Basic.NET, etc.). It has all of the features common to low-level audio libraries as well as lots of useful features like a sophisticated streaming engine, extendable audio reading, single and multi-threading modes, 3D audio emulation for low-end hardware, a plugin system, multiple rolloff models, sound effects, and more. All of these can be accessed via an extremely simple API using an object oriented design.
EasyPMP is a program used to create and maintain the music database on a variety of portable music players. This allows tracks to be browsed by artist, album, genre, etc., rather than by directory structure. The following devices are supported: iRiver H100 series; iRiver H300 series; iRiver H10 UMS; iRiver H10 MTP (with emergency connect mode); iRiver H10Jr. UMS; iRiver U10 UMS; MEDION MDJuke220 and MDJuke 440; and Samsung YH-820, YH-920, and YH-925. It is developed as part of a project called PMPlib, which aims to develop a library that can be used by desktop media players and other programs, in order to support these devices.
Plait (pronounced "play") is a command-line jukebox and music player front end. It understands brief, easy to type queries that pick a single song, mix queries that combine works from multiple artists, and stream queries that find Shoutcast radio streams. A variety of filters are available to pick just the music you want to hear. In order to actually play the music it finds, Plait automatically hands off a playlist to one of the supported music players, or creates a playlist that you can manually load.
XMMS2 is a redesign of the XMMS music player. It features a client-server model, allowing multiple (even simultaneous!) user interfaces, both textual and graphical. All common audio formats are supported using plugins. On top of this, there is a flexible media library to organize your music.
