Podget is a simple podcast aggregator optimized for running as a scheduled background job (i.e. cron). It features support for downloading podcasts from RSS and XML feeds, for sorting the podcasts into folders and categories, for importing podcast URLs from iTunes PCAST files and OPML lists, automatic M3U and ASX playlist creation, and automatic cleanup of old podcasts. It also features automatic UTF-16 conversion for podcasts hosted on Windows servers and includes the ability to handle authentication for premium podcasts.
EduKator is a KDE-based education program for learning about physics and mathematics in a way that it is fun. The program explains the theory being taught, and provides exercises for practicing the concepts. It includes programs for teaching the basic rules of optics, representing dubblerates graphically, teaching the basics of Archimedes' principles, and teaching about extrema problems (finding the minimum and maximum values of mathematical functions).
Rsyslog is an enhanced multi-threaded syslogd. Among others, it offers support for on-demand disk buffering, reliable syslog over TCP, SSL, TLS, and RELP, writing to databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and many more), email alerting, fully configurable output formats (including high-precision timestamps), the ability to filter on any part of the syslog message, on-the-wire message compression, and the ability to convert text files to syslog. It is a drop-in replacement for stock syslogd and able to work with the same configuration file syntax.
trackpeer is an agent that helps network and server administrators with tracking their users' computers. It makes it possible to determine the MAC addresses of computers over a network, even when the computers are behind NATed gateways. This agent is intended to be used by the administrators who need to identify and locate malicious computers and virus-infected computers in a network such as a middle-sized wireless LAN, public Ethernet jack system, campus, or corporate network.
