regionset allows you to check and set the region code of DVD drives. This program was part of the package "dvd_disc_20000215.tar.gz" from Convergence, which is no longer distributed because of the new German copyright law. (The package also contained some CSS and copying related tools.) regionset was separated and all CSS related stuff was removed. This program is needed by everyone with a new DVD drive that doesn't have a region code set, since the drive will only play Video DVDs when the region code has been set once.
Akeni Instant Messaging Server Pro is a client/server instant messaging platform that allows companies to host their own secured private IM system. The client has an user interface similar to AIM, ICQ, or MSN Messenger. Extra features include contact management and optional tabbed chat sessions. DragStacK is a kicker applet, a stack of files. It was inspired by the drop stack of the PathFinder file manager for OS X. Users can drop as many files on it as they want. To get the files out of the stack they just need to be dragged out. The last file that was dropped on the stack is the first file that can be dragged out of it. It does not keep the files themselves in the stack, only their paths. It can also handle stacking URLs and directories.
Netsane is a script to easily configure multipath routing under Linux, allowing the use of multiple gateway links, and affording some measure of equalization (not true load balancing) across these links. It currently supports 2 gateway links, options to add blackhole/null routes, options to bind specific destinations to specific routes, and the ability to mark specific traffic to use specific routes. It utilizes the iproute2 tools under Linux.
The tcb suite implements the alternative password shadowing scheme on Openwall GNU/*/Linux (Owl) which allows many core system utilities (passwd(1) being the primary example) to operate with little privilege. It is being made available separately from Owl primarily for use by other distributions. This package contains three core components of the tcb suite: pam_tcb (a PAM module which supersedes pam_unix), libnss_tcb (the accompanying NSS module), and libtcb (a library for accessing tcb shadow files, used by the PAM and NSS modules as well as by user management tools on Owl).
Sysmon is a tool to monitor the state of one or more computers. It’s based on a daemon and a PHP script. The first has to be runned in all boxes you need to check, and the second calls the daemon and prints the state into a nice Web frontend. The sysmond functions can be easily expanded by writing modules.
