Opensort is general purpose sorting software that aims to be a fast and easy solution for the sorting of large or small data-sets and data manipulation in general. It is still in the early stages of development and lacks many of the advanced features its commercial counterparts have. For the moment, it only provides a simple command line interface and a C library other programs can use to cover some basic needs for data sorting.
ng-jackspa is a set of simple user interface programs that host a LADSPA plugin, providing JACK ports for its audio inputs and outputs, and dynamic setting of its control inputs through the user interface. Additionally, the plugin controls can be exported to or controlled by control voltages on standard JACK audio ports. The following interfaces are available: an ncurses visual (full screen) interface for the terminal; a GTK+ graphical interface; a Qt 4 graphical interface; and a command line interface for the terminal.
PASAP runs in the background, checking whether a stream exists, and, if it does, plays it. It was originally written to play back audio provided by MPD in remotely networked locations, but it also allows consumer-grade HD decoders (WDTV) to automatically play back audio/video streams from an HTTP address.
node-cassandra-cql is a Node.js CQL driver for the Apache Cassandra CQL3 binary protocol. CQL is a query language for Apache Cassandra. It features connection pooling to multiple hosts, parameters in queries, the ability to get a cell by column name using row.get('first_name'), and bigints support.
Shasplit takes a large data block, splits it into smaller parts, and puts those parts into an SHA-based content-addressed store. Reassembling those parts is a trivial "cat" invocation. Repeating parts (e.g., from previous split operations) are stored only once, which allows efficient incremental backups of whole LVM snapshots via Rsync. Shasplit shows its strengths on encrypted block devices, but might be useful for non-encrypted data, too.
Hados stores files in a cluster of servers. Its goal is to handle high availability by storing copies of the same file on several nodes. It provides RESTFUL APIs to easily store, check, or retrieve files. Using the cluster APIs, you can retrieve files from whichever node hosts them. To avoid any single point of failure, it is possible to apply a request to any node of the cluster; there is no master node.
