dhcpcd is an RFC2131 compliant DHCP client. It is fully featured and yet lightweight: the binary is 60k as reported by size(1) on Linux i386. It has support for duplicate address detection, IPv4LL, carrier detection, and a merged resolv.conf and ntp.conf for which other DHCP clients require third party tools.
WOTS is a logfile monitoring utility written in Perl. It's based on swatch but is brand new. It can be configured to watch multiple logfiles and to generate actions based on (perl regex) patterns matched in those files. Logfile rotations and variable logfile names are all possible. The actions can be printing the message, executing an external command, and others.

BZFlag is a 3D, multiplayer, tank battle zone, capture the flag game that pits players against each other in a networked environment. It runs on Windows 95/98/NT/2000, Linux, MacOS 10.x, Irix, Solaris, and others. An OpenGL accelerator is highly recommended, but it is playable with 3D in software.
Synaesthesia is an eyecandy program that represents music graphically in real time as coruscating fields of fog and glowing lines. It is intended as a visual accompaniment to music. Its display combines information about the frequency, location and diffuseness of sound. It can take input from CD, line, piped from another program, or from EsounD. It also functions as a CD player.
