This framework hides the details of the specific protocol you are using so that you can write portable, protocol-independent applications. Libnetcomm is part of a bigger project called IT/m.

You can choose between FAT-12, FAT-16, FAT-32, ext2, and minix. If you want to use the disk with DOS or Windows, FAT-12 is the best option.
