WWWcam is for grabbing, archiving, and Web publishing pictures from a video-device-based Webcam. With the CPiA webcam driver it supports even USB and parallel port webcams. Beside normal functions like connecting wwwcam directly with a browser and automatic picture reload from your Website, it has many special functions. It can write an adjustable title with timestamp in the picture, and it can perform automatic brightness correction. It can also compare the taken picture with last one and decide whether or not to save the picture for archiving. It tells you if there was activity in the camera's field of view. Finally, it does FTP upload and limits the number of pictures in a directory.
mixplayd is a multi-channel MP3 player daemon controlled over a TCP port. It has all functions like play/pause/stop/seeking plus special mixer functions. The number of channels and sound devices (including named pipe support) can be changed at run time. It is meant to be used in conjunction with a playlist-maintaining client.
ethstats is a script that quickly measures network device throughput. It works by parsing the /proc/net/dev file that the Linux kernel maintains, and thus utilizes a negligible amount of CPU time. ethstats shows the throughput of each device in both megabits per second and packets per second.
Permission Record Information Machine (PRIM) delivers database connectivity via a web browser. Users can have different database permissions (e.g. create tables, modify tables, etc.). PRIM has built-in database analytical tools such as graph displays, reporting, etc. English and Chinese (Big5) language support.
Grlib is an implementation of generative grammars and turtle graphics. The grammars (Lindenmayer systems) are used to produce descriptions of three dimensional objects, and the turtle is used to display them (i.e., generate images in several forms, such as bitmap, PostScript, or OpenGL).
