Freemed-YiRC is a PHP package based on Freemed for use with Youth in Residential Care (YiRC) agencies. Its aim is to be a complete package to replace legacy non-free apps which aren't customizable. Since it's PHP-based, all that is needed for the client is a good Web browser with extensive table support. Some of the objectives for Freemed-YiRC are: User Management, a Contact Database, Clinical CaseNotes, an Incident Report System, an email client, a Service Plan System, a Timecard System, and Medical Billing (Medicaid/Insurance/Private).
oftpd is designed to be as secure as an anonymous FTP server can possibly be. It runs as non-root for most of the time, and uses the Unix chroot() command to hide most of the systems directories from external users--they cannot change into them even if the server is totally compromised. It also contains its own directory-change and directory-listing code (most FTP servers execute the system "ls" command to list files).
Unifdef is useful for removing #ifdef'ed lines from a file while otherwise leaving the file alone. You specify which symbols are defined or undefined with -D and -U flags, and unifdef removes the corresponding ifdefs, and the enclosed code if appropriate. It's especially useful for removing those "#ifdef BROKEN" and "#ifdef PRIVATE" clauses from code before you release it. Unifdef acts on #if, #ifdef, #ifndef, #elif, #else, and #endif lines, and it knows only enough about C and C++ to know when one of these is inactive because it is inside a comment or a single or double quote.
libgaudio is a C/C++ library to facilitate easy incorporation of sound and sound effects into games. Samples are loaded into memory and playback is then triggered or stopped. The system mixes any number of concurrently playing samples together (up to a predefined maximum). It is also possible to include a background MP3 soundfile in the mix.
QStick is a program which uses the XTest extension in XFree86 to send keyboard messages to an X server from a Linux-supported joystick. The program consists of the KBStick executable which reads joystick input and dispatches keypress messages to X, and the QStick shell script which configures environment varibles read by the executable to assign X KeyCodes to the joystick directions & button presses.
GQL is a C++ library for generic SQL database access, modeled after JDBC (Java Database Connectivity). e3 is a full-screen, user-friendly text editor with an interface similar to that of either WordStar, Emacs, Pico, Nedit, or vi. It's heavily optimized for size and independent of libc or any other libraries, making it useful for mini-Linux distributions and rescue disks. The assembler version supports Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, Win9x, QNX, Atheos, BeOS, ELKS, and DOS. There is also a separately distributed version written in C which supports some other Unix versions and CygWin. It is also possible to use regular expressions by using child processes like sed. e3 has a built in arithmetic calculator.
