Task Layout Optimizer for Blue Gene is a high-performance computing (HPC) Linux service tool for efficient mapping of Message Passing Interface (MPI) tasks to the IBM Blue Gene/L Supercomputer. The algorithms used for mapping are based on the paper Optimizing Task Layout on the Blue Gene/L supercomputer. This paper talks about the extensive amount of data transmitted between processors for producing maps, and the challenge of minimizing the communication time.
ir-root-controller is a small daemon which listens to the LIRC (Linux Infrared Remote Control) daemon and executes system events. It is intended to be run as a system daemon and does not require any user to have set up LIRC or events for LIRC. An example application would be changing the global system volume irrespective of what applications are running or which users (if any) are logged in.
The coronet library implements an epoll and coroutine based library that allows for async operations over certain kinds of files. Any file that supports poll(2) and the O_NONBLOCK fcntl(2) flag can be hosted; this includes like sockets and pipes. The coronet library uses the epoll support available in the 2.6 series of Linux kernels, and the libpcl library for coroutine support.
