Randomplay allows you to play your music collection in random order with a memory of songs played preserved across sessions, so you don't "lose your place" if you have to shut down. It also has many features to make command-line music playing more convenient, including recursive regexp searching for tracks and the ability to specify a certain number of tracks, bytes, or minutes to play. It can also generate a list of music files to be loaded onto a portable music player device.
raps2 is a simple password safe. You give it a name, a password, and optional metadata, and it will encrypt and store them for you. It uses Eksblowfish for crypto, which offers a configurable key setup time, so you can make it as slow as you want. Each password is saved in a separate file, making it easy to track them in version control.
rarch (Removable Archive) is a program that keeps a database of archives on removable media (i.e., CDs). It can be used to keep an archive of backup CDs, etc. It comes with a search function, easy archive creation functionality, and other archive management functions. It does not create and manage the archives themselves; it only keeps a database of what files are on what archives, so that they can be searched.
