DeforaOS Phone is a GTK+ application that has an interchangeable telephony backend, complete with call, contact, and message management. With its backends for GSM modems, it can be used as the telephony application on phones including the Openmoko Freerunner, Nokia N900, and some HTC phones running custom Linux distributions, and as a tethering application that provides Internet access to a desktop computer. Support for VoIP protocols is under development, with a backend based on the sofia-sip library.
Clement is an email server application. Its main function is to block unwanted mail (spam) as soon as possible in the email exchange process. It accepts or rejects email while the SMTP session, initiated by the email sender, is still pending, accepting legitimate email messages without the need to return an error status to non-existent or "borrowed" return address later. Clement can operate in two modes, either as a standard MTA (as sendmail, Postfix, Exim, Exchange, etc.) to store email in the recipient's own area, or to transmit the mail to an another SMTP server acting as smart spam filtering device. Each email domain name Clement knows about can be treated in one of these two modes depending on the group to which the domain name has been set. Each message is verified by a virus scanner (ClamAV) while the SMTP connection is still open, but the refusal of mail and the reason for refusal is notified to the actual sender. Mail management is done via a Web interface and can be delegated to three administrative levels (Root-Admin, Group-Admin, Domain-Admin). Standard users can access their own logs (sent email status, email rejected, quarantined email, etc.). With this interface, the user can handle the rejection and acceptance of mail. Users who are level "Admin" can access the session logs (via the Web interface). Clement uses a SQL database (PostgreSQL, MySQL) to store and manage logs, user profiles, and dynamic management of directives concerning the sender-receiver relationship.
IceUtils is a suite of command line tools designed to make creating a role playing game world and playing through that world an easier task. Although some of the tools are specific to the Iron Crowns Rolemaster role playing system, other tools can be used for just about any game environment in existence.
PyGUI is a GUI API which is designed specifically for Python, taking advantage of Python's unique language features and working smoothly with Python's data types on the three major platforms (Unix, Macintosh, and Windows) that are small and lightweight, interposing as little code as possible between the Python application and the platform's underlying GUI facilities, and not bloating the Python installations or applications which use them.
Pipa reads data from stdin and does various things with it: rotates by time interval / output file size; compresses it (gz, bz2, lzo, xz); names the output file with strftime(); splits it intelligently when given info about the file structure (newlines / PCAP); calls a user command on the finished output file; passes it to stdout (like tee); and more.
Alv verifies Oracle archive logs to ensure there is a viable set available for DB recovery. It can be run from wherever the logs are stored, so verification may be offloaded from the DB server. Checks are made on file size and type. By default, the checksum of each redo record is also verified. Program output consists of log sequence numbers and character codes which indicate status and highlight any gaps. Environment variable settings allow for custom log name formats and to check the DBNAME set within a log.
checkMX is a Perl daemon which monitors remote MX servers for a domain's overall health. If all the MX hosts are down and the domain can no longer receive mail, checkMX updates the Postfix relay_domains file so it will start accepting mail for the broken domain. Once the domain can start accepting mail on its own, checkmx will flush the mail queue for delivery and remove it from postfix relay_domains file. This prevents spammers from using the backup MX server as a spam vector.
