Extracts information from the linux boot append= line. For example if you have as boot command line boot: Linux append="x11=true" You can use this program to extract that information and go to init level 4 from within your rc.local script It is also useful for having bootscripts that have to behave differently according to the booted kernel (e.g. ip masquerading on 1 machine with a 2.2 or 2.4 kernel installed).
fireparse is an ADMLogger plugin that emails a report of all packets that have been logged by the kernel's packet filtering subsystem (iptables/netfilter or ipchains). The report includes source and destination ports, direction, logged packet count, matched rule, and fully resolved host names (if available). The email report can be formatted to plain text or a colored HTML table.
The k6mult utility sets the CPU multiplier factor on AMD K6-III+ and K6-2+ processors featuring AMD PowerNow(tm). The CPU clock speed is determined by multiplying this factor by the Front Side Bus (FSB) speed. You should use the k6mult utility if you want to increase the multiplier factor after boot to overcome boot-time CPU speed limitations in some BIOSs that do not recognize the K6-III+, or to lower the CPU speed after boot to save power. k6mult comes with a command-line program of the same name to set the CPU multiplier factor immediately, and a boot-time service to set the parameter from a config file.
CD-R/W discs can be written with a technique called packet or incremental writing. This allows transparent and buffer-underrun-free recording for CD recorders that support this method. No more mastering of .iso images; just mount your CD-ROM read/write and copy files directly to it.
Autoslack is designed to keep your Slackware Linux system up to date automatically. It reads a configuration file to get the FTP site you wish to use, the distribution directory to use, and where to store the packages on your system. It will show what's been updated based on what you have installed, what's new since you installed, and optionally download and install the packages.
