The Fortune World project consists of 4 small programs. The first is a utility for converting fortune files to MySQL databases. The second one is a TCP server which runs on port 7799 and returns a random fortune from a MySQL database. The third one is a PHP script that can read from both a MySQL database and the server. The last one is a Unix command line client.
Docindex is an open, extensible system that permits Web-based catalog searches and access-controlled fetch from a group of document repositories on multiple CVS (extensible to other) servers. Documents remain under CVS version control and are made available to Web users using bookmarkable URLs pointing to specific versions or branches.
IControl interprets signals from Creative's RM-900 remote control and the accompanying IR LiveDrive! receiver unit. It is currently capable of sending input to various programs (including XMMS, Xine, XawTV, and XScreensaver), as well as circulating window stacking order (sending windows to the background), and changing input focus. It is completely configurable, allowing the user to map any key to any action the daemon supports. Support for other remote controls is planned.
GuitarTeX is based on the idea of Chord. It takes a Chord file containing Chordpro directives to produce good-looking and easy-to-play song sheets for guitarists in PostScript or PDF format. You can use all available LaTeX features and packages to create a songbook or a single song sheet as you like it. If you don't know very much about LaTeX you can create pstscript or PDF output automatically. There also is a Web-based version on the GuitarTeX homepage that produces HTML output, which may be used without installing anything on your local computer.
pyNMS is a set of Python modules for network management, network testing, systems management, and general use. It contains a nearly complete implementation of SNMPv2c, a SMI/MIB package, and a MIB "compiler". There are many others, such as a telnet/console access class, XML tools, an IPv4 class, etc. There is, unfortunately, little documentation, and not everything works properly yet, but they work well enough to be useful for many things.
