DVD-Vault is an implementation of a filesystem archive that makes a DVD SCSI library with multiple pieces of DVD-R or DVD-RAM media look like a single large file system. A library with 1000 pieces of 4.7Gbyte media can be addressed as a 4700GByte file system with SCSI-robotic mounting and unmounting of media as required. Users of UniTree (HPSS), AMASS, METIOR, and MagnaVault may recognize how this program works. It has been tested with an ASACA 250 and 1450 and the Sony/Kubota 64-slot PD (blu-ray) library.
libmls is a library that can be used to measure the frequency response of a loudspeaker or a room using your computer and an ordinary soundcard. It can perform both MLS (Maximum Length Sequence) and Sinus sweep measurements. It supports ALSA, OSS, and the sound system used in Windows.
Sysinit is a system-initialization scheme for use with Linux and a daemon-management scheme for use with runit or daemontools. It provides a common interface to all functionality, and uses envdirs instead of sourced shell scripts or custom configuration files. It does error handling, handles dependencies gracefully and simply, and handles runlevels.
knuckle cracker includes a tool that compares two binary files and generates human-readable (and writable) patch scripts signed with MD5. It features smart string/binary recognition. Non-printable string portions are presented in C- like escaping style ("\x20\7\r\n"). It also features a utility that applies such a patch.
lisodsp is a multi-open device driver for Linux. It is a kernel module that installs a OSS DSP device which can be opened many times in write mode. Reading the device produces a mix of all opened channels. lisodspd is a full-featured user space daemon which forwards audio data to a real OSS device. In addition lisodspd allows the user to set up a filter between a lisodsp device and the real OSS device. The device supports all linear formats (8/16 bit, little/big endian, mono/stereo) in a wide sampling range (4800 to 48000Hz).
