Onyx is a powerful stack-based, multi-threaded, interpreted, general purpose programming language similar to PostScript and Forth. It can be embedded as an extension language into other applications, and was designed to have a small memory footprint. It is among the smallest embeddable interpreters available.
Snow Path Formation Simulator is a program that models the process of people forming very distinct, and yet not always altogether logical looking, paths in the snow as they walk across open spaces. The evolving condition of the snow is displayed graphically. This project may eventually mature into a screensaver.
glogin is a program that can be used to cause a terminal (usually a virtual console) to be logged in automatically, without having to type a userid and password. Stick it in place of getty in /etc/inittab to have terminals come up logged in and at a shell prompt at every boot. Same purpose as 'alogin', but you use it a little differently, and it does a little more of the usual login stuff. It is a simple Perl program, and can be easily customized.
MuPO (Multi-Purpose-Organizer) is a powerful PIM application for desktop and PDA systems. It features a hierarchical todo-list and notes, appointments, a project-time recorder, a calendar, recurring items, and more. It is fully searchable, and it includes a tool to sync several mupo-files. You can use it on an Agenda PDA, Compaq iPaq, or on a PC running Linux or Windows. Items can be encrypted.
WebPic is an application used to take a directory of digital cam pictures, and provide a frontend for Web viewing. It allows you to scale the images to different values, add comments, and display them in varying HTML styles. It uses ImageMagick for the image processing, and PerlMagick as the interface. It also requires the use of Tk::JPEG for image display. Please read the included Readme for more information on development and bugs.
ipband is a pcap-based traffic monitor. It tallies per-subnet traffic and bandwidth usage and starts detailed logging if the specified threshold for a specific subnet is exceeded. This utility could be handy in a limited bandwidth WAN environment (frame relay, ISDN, etc.) to pinpoint offending traffic sources if certain links become saturated to the point where legitimate packets start getting dropped.
