Entangle is a desktop application for interacting with digital SLR cameras. With a suitably capable camera, it allows for full manipulation of the camera settings, remote triggering of the shutter, live preview of scenes, and download of captured images. It supports use of monitor colour profiles for accurate on-screen rendering of images. Integration with the GObject introspection framework allows third party extension plugins to enhance the core functionality.
SpectMorph allows you to analyze samples of musical instruments and to combine them (morphing). It can be used to construct hybrid sounds, e.g. a sound between a trumpet and a flute, or smooth transitions, e.g. a sound that starts as a trumpet and then gradually changes to a flute. Interpolating between two samples of the same instrument (different attack velocity of a piano) could be interesting. The analysis process decomposes samples into a sum of sine waves (corresponding to the partials present in the signal, or the part of the signal perceived as "tone") and additional noise. SpectMorph is thus based on the research on Spectral Modelling Synthesis.
Networkled is a small system tray utility which gives a graphical indication of the received and transmitted traffic. It relies on the proc file system and more specifically on the existence of the file "/proc/net/dev". It can be used with any system tray that follows the "Free Desktop System Tray Specification" and has a proc file system.
MediaCore is a media-focused CMS. It features rich video and audio support, YouTube/Vimeo integration, HTML5 video, support for the iPad/iPhone, podcasting, iTunes RSS generation, user-submitted content, an embedded media player, and searching. It is highly customizable. There is both a front-end for users and a back-end for administrators. Users can browse videos or podcasts. Users can search for videos by topics and tags. Users can upload videos to the platform; administrators can moderate newly uploaded videos. Administrators can add video, audio, or podcasts. A comment platform for moderation is built-in. Podcasts can be video or audio. It also has automatic iTunes feed generation, automatic RSS feed generation, and feedburner support.
TinyIDS is a distributed intrusion detection system (IDS) for Unix systems. It is based on the client/server architecture and has been developed with security in mind. The client, tinyids, collects information from the local system by running its collector backends. The collected information may include anything, from file contents to file metadata or even the output of system commands. The client passes all this data through a hashing algorithm and a unique checksum (hash) is calculated. This hash is then sent to one or more TinyIDS servers (tinyidsd), where it is compared with a hash that had previously been stored in the databases of those remote servers for this specific client. A response indicating the result of the hash comparison is finally sent back to the client. Management of the remotely stored hash is possible through the client's command line interface. Communication between the client and the server can be encrypted using RSA public key infrastructure (PKI).
RenderConfig allows the definition of a set of modifications that can be used to transform (or render) a set of source files to provide tailored configuration specific to a particular instance of an application. A typical use case for this is where your application requires a set of configuration files that identify multiple servers that provide particular application services. These application servers will differ depending on whether you are running the application in development, testing, or in production. With RenderConfig, at build time you can explicitly produce a set of configuration files that support all of these configurations, providing the ability to ship the configuration with the other build artifacts.
pdr (personal data recorder) and pdx (personal data expert) are applications that collect and evaluate mostly numeric personal data. The intended use case is for logging individual medical data (blood sugar, blood pressure, body temperature, weight, heart rate, and medications), but they can also be used for technical, sports, fitness, weather, environmental, or financial data. They work on a continuous flow of numbers in time that you want to monitor. Every data item can also be commented by text. pdr can use Twitter and email accounts for data input, which makes mobile phones usable for data input. It is one of the few free applications for diabetics.
