Spindown is a daemon to spin down idle disks and thus save energy and give the disks a longer lifetime. It also works with USB disks and hot-swappable disks because it uses the device ID to identify the disk instead of the device name (such as hda or sdb). This means that it doesn't matter if the disk is swapped while the daemon is running.
Nightwing allows the creation of quickly deployed wireless networks without the need to make complicated configurations. With the implementation of a Mesh technology called B.A.T.M.A.N, Nightwing allows the extension of wireless networks with a simple way of adding devices that works with minimal human intervention. It has public and private connection interfaces, and the ability to filter content using OpenDNS. It is designed with security in mind, and has low hardware requirements.
Hotwire is an integrated inventory system and a rapid deployment tool targeted at servicing enterprise environments. The currently supported rapid deployment technologies are Kickstart (Red Hat Linux), AutoYaST (SuSE Linux), and Preseed (Debian GNU/Linux). The hotwire server itself can be installed on any Linux platform, however. Additionally, where client machines have the python-dmidecode, func, and certmaster packages installed, hotwire is able to provide an automated inventory maintenance and dynamic updates, via funcwire, a hotwire tool.
Open-BLDC is firmware for STM32 microcontroller based brushless motor controllers. The goal of the project is to support active freewheeling, active break, adjustable timings, rotation speed and power controllers, and many more. Support for multiple interfaces like PPM, RS232, I2C, and CAN is planned.
Ejecter is a little tool that makes it possible to unmount external devices and eject CD-ROMs without having to right-click on the device icon (either on the desktop or in Nautilus). It sits in the background and shows an icon in the system tray when one or more peripherals are connected to your PC: once clicked, a window appears with the list of the devices (volume name and device type, and much clearer than the similar thing available on Windows) and the related eject button. Being written in Vala, it is translated into C code and then compiled. This means that it's lightweight and consumes little memory, does not require a full VM like Python, and has no strange requirements to run (just GLib/GTK).
