irspider is a Linux-based IRC smartbot. It is very similar in functionality to a search engine on the Web. irspider goes out and spiders DCC offer bots that are in the same channel as itself, and stores tons of information on what those particular bots are offering. Users are then able to query irspider for matches against its database, or request a masslisting of everything that it knows about.
IRC Channel Relay Bot allows you to have an IRC channel span multiple IRC networks. It relays public and private messages, informs you about people joining and leaving the channel, and passes topics across networks (if you op it). It has minimal ability to help protect the channel.
Yeemp is a decentralized instant messaging system. It uses GPG over SSL for encryption, and UTF-8 to enable non-Latin text to be transferred. The X client can request and receive webcam feeds. The clients include support for Japanese, Cyrillic, and Ogham input, as well as direct UTF-8. Yeemp includes a command-line client, an X client, a server, and a simple Web-based client. The clients can also use the AIM and ICQ protocols.
SMSTerm is an application that uses the ICQ2000 protocol to present you a shell on your mobile phone which allows you to interact with your computer from any mobile on a GSM network. It runs a shell on a pty, and allows you to directly send commands to the shell through SMS. Minimal authentication is done over SMS before spawning a shell and offering it to the user on the mobile phone. It is very useful for remote administration tasks, or checking out the status of the network, or just to run some small chores on your system while you are away. It uses Expect.pm in the background. SMSTerm also includes a script to send SMS through the ICQ network from the command line to any GSM mobile, and also includes a PHP script to set up a Web->SMS gateway.
