album is a free HTML/XHTML photo album and gallery generator that supports themes/skins. You can choose different themes or write your own to get different layouts and styles. It creates all your thumbnails (including directory thumbnails) and descends into directories so you can organize your photos. See the home page for more examples. album is also multi-lingual, with many languages being added all the time. N.B.: The purchase link is provided for donations; the software does not cost anything.
The GlobeCom Jukebox is a music jukebox with integrated CDDB-aware ripping and groupware functionality. It is completely configurable from the Web interface, seamlessly integrates ripping from CD to encoded MP3, and supports grouping of songs, peak adjustment, account management for access, streaming of jukebox or single song, themability, album handling, and online help.
OIO is a Web-based metadata/data management front-end which is built using Zope and works with Postgresql. No programming is required to build and manage Web-forms or to perform data mining/analysis on the collected data. It is in production at the Harbor/UCLA Medical Center for clinical outcomes management and research data. Forms created with OIO and hosted on any OIO server can be downloaded as XML files. Once downloaded from the "Forms library" and imported into an OIO server, the necessary database tables are automatically recreated and the imported forms become immediately available to the users of that OIO server.
PLOTICUS is a command line utility for creating bar, line, pie, boxplot, scatterplot, sweep, heatmap, vector, timeline, Venn diagrams, and other types of charts and plots. ploticus is good for automated or just-in-time graph generation. It handles date, time, and categorical data nicely, and has some basic statistical capabilities. It can output to GIF, PNG, SVG, SWF, JPEG, PostScript, EPS, and X11. You can use convenient preset options or create complex scripts with rich and detailed color and style operations.
stream-db is a database-enabled version of streamcast, an MP3 file streamer for icecast/shoutcast servers. stream-db uses a database for the backend instead of perl data structures. The database holds song information, play queues, event logs and request logs. The aim the project is to allow people to create their own streaming media stations, with users, requests, song histories, and playlists and other such fun things.
Tunez is an MP3/Ogg jukebox that works with a voting system. You can vote for your favorite tracks via the Web interface, and the Tunez daemon will take care of the rest. It is ideal for shared work environments and LAN parties. Tunez also works equally well as an interface to an Icecast server (v2.0 is supported via Ices v0.3). Tunez makes it easy to update ID3 tags for all your MP3s. Support for grabbing Amazon art in included for all of your favorite albums. A full user/group permission scheme is available so that you can customize Tunez for your own use.
Web Photo Album automatically generates photo albums on the fly from directories containing your favorite photos. Supports captions (including HTML tags), definable page sizes, forward and reverse preview, and index pages. All preview and index pages can be clicked to jump straight to the page that contains them. Album maintenance is easy -- just add or remove photos and (optionally) captions to your album directory.
Andromeda turns collections of MP3s into fully-featured streaming Web sites. Many other file formats are supported, including: WMA, OGG, MPG, AVI, and WMV. It can be used as a personal jukebox on a local network or over the Internet (bandwidth permitting). It works well with PHP-Nuke, PostNuke, and phpWebSite. Additional features include skins, custom playlists, logons/accounts, and a search tool. Andromeda is also multilingual, speaking English, German, Russian, Dutch, Spanish, and many other languages. No database is required. ASP and PHP versions are available.
