Moodss is a modular monitoring application, which supports operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows, etc.), databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, ODBC, etc.), networking (SNMP, Apache, etc.), and any device or process for which a module can be developed (in Tcl, Python, Perl, Java, and C). An intuitive GUI with full drag'n'drop support allows the construction of dashboards with graphs, pie charts, etc., while the thresholds functionality includes emails and user defined scripts. Monitored data can be archived in a SQL database by both the GUI and the companion daemon, so that complete history over time can be made available from Web pages or common spreadsheet software. It can even be used for future behavior prediction or capacity planning, from the included predictor tool, based on powerful statistical methods and artificial neural networks.
Sirid is a Web-based tool for managing software projects. The main features of Sirid are assigning tasks between the personnel, reporting bugs, managing specifications, and recording feature requests. The program also sends notifications of new bugs and tasks to people who have been set responsible for them, and notifies the responsible people when the deadline of some bug or task is approaching. It features graphical presentations for tracking the progress of your project. Sirid keeps you informed of the status of each of your projects, and allows you to take action if difficulties arise.
Geolizer is a patch for Webalizer that uses the GeoIP library to generate faster and more reliable geographic statistics than the default DNS suffix method. It is recommended that DNS reversal be disabled on your HTTP server for improved performance and more accurate statistics. It also supports country flag pictures, can be compiled under MinGW/MSYS, and features a human-readable transfer size display.
The Music Control Center can help you organize your existing sound file collection and walk you through the process of ripping backup copies of your CDs, moving the newly-created sound files to the correct location, and updating the database appropriately. It allows you to create playlists on-the-fly, save them, and load them for playback at a later date. You can search your collection by artist, album title, label, producer, song title, and year released.
Y Object Database Adapter (YODA) is an environment for creating and running network accessible applications. It can permanently store objects of any type and complexity, and supports attributes of most types (with the exception of only a few Python types, such as thread locks). It can be extended with YODA- server applications, and an application compiler and loader are provided.
Tanal is a Unix daemon that captures traffic packet size, source, destination, and times and saves this data into a native PostgreSQL or ODBC database in near real time, from which traffic reports may be made. It does not save the actual data or headers. It works on ethX or cooked devices like ppp0. It uses PostgreSQL embedded SQL or libodbc++ to insert the data, the pcap library to capture traffic, and pthreads to capure and write at the same time. Pcap filters can be specified on the command line. Logs go to syslog. Under development are tools that analyze this traffic to determine the type based on flows, not packet inspection.
