cvs-nserver is the almost complete rewrite of network-related CVS code featuring security-critical code in separate executables, a clean authentication layer allowing virtual repositories running under a single system account with an unlimited number of virtual users, simple authentication modules which can authenticate against /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow, and PAM, and complete compatibility with existing clients.
cvsq (CVS queued) is a tool that enables developers with a dial-up connection to work comfortably with CVS. It accepts same arguments as CVS but instead of directly processing them, cvsq stores all requests in a queue and handles them later. This way, you can mark several files for commit and upload them when you're connected to the Net.
Freepository is a Web-based revision control system based on massive extensions of CVSWeb. It employs a project concept, which provides member accounts and access controls. At project creation, unique CVS repositories are created, containing their respectively unique project credentials. The database maps users to repositories. It also supports multi-file upload, secure remote command line access, and on-the-fly tarring & downloading of repositories.
Motor is a text-mode integrated programming environment for Linux. It consists of an editor with syntax highlighting, a project manager, a makefile generator, gcc, ctags, gdb, autoconf/automake and grep front-ends. CVS integration is also provided. It allows one to edit, compile, and debug programs without a need to leave the IDE, automatically check in/out files from a CVS repository and import projects into CVS, and generate distribution packages (tar.gz and RPM). The color schemes are customisable.
TIA is an ncurses-based console IDE for GCC, G++, Java, Perl, PHP, BASH, BUSH, HTML, and GNAT (Ada 95). It has integrated support for CVS, SVN, and ncurses compatible mice. Features include a ddd-style console debugger, automatic spelling correction, keyword hilighting, project statistics, automatic backups, and keyboard macros. The project window controls optimization and debug settings all in one place. TIA supports make, cook, and gnatmake project builders. For large projects, each user has a separate preference file.
CVSSearch searches for code fragments using CVS comments. Specifically, it takes advantage of the fact that a CVS comment describes the lines of code involved in the commit and that this description will typically hold for many future versions. In other words, CVSSearch allows you to better search the most recent version of the code by looking at previous versions to better understand the current version.
RANCID (Really Awesome New Cisco confIg Differ) collects a router's (or device's) configuration, including software and hardware (cards, serial numbers, etc.), and uses CVS to display differences from a previous collection. It supports Cisco routers, Juniper routers, Catalyst switches, Foundry switches, Redback NASs, and ADC EZT3 muxes. The Beta version currently includes support for Bay Networks (nortel) routers and Extreme switches. Rancid also includes a lookingglass and the device login scripts may be used to automate a number of tasks.
bkcvs allows you to easily download the current KDE developer sources from the CVS repository and compile them without any user interaction. It automatically manages the source copy in a local directory, and asks for several other options concerning your future KDE CVS install. For example, you can specify which languages you want to use.
