The X3D library is used to load an X3D file and render it using OpenGL (an X3D file is an XML file describing a 3D environment that can be rendered with OpenGL.) The library supports all the objects as defined in the X3D specification in 2006. The render library is still somewhat limited, though. It works well under Linux. It is likely to work on any Unix, and has worked under MS Windows before. The project includes a test that makes use of FLTK version 2.0-m3. That version of FLTK can be downloaded from the project repository, as FLTK itself actually ended up not publishing a concrete 2.0 version of the library.

Due to C portability, OpenOffice.org's usual middleware, Universal Network Objects (UNO), could not be designed object oriented. With NOA-libre you can still access UNO, but also the NOA-libre object oriented layer atop UNO. Being based on UNO, NOA-libre is network aware, meaning that you can use it to have your local office installation execute some commands, or an OpenOffice.org installation anywhere on the world, provided you have a appropriate network connection and privileges. With NOA-libre, you can: embed OpenOffice.org windows in your Java applications or applets; remote control OpenOffice.org windows on your desktop, over the network, or "headless", i.e. only functional without visible output; and/or extend OpenOffice.org by writing Java plugins. NOA-libre is compatible with OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice, easier to deploy than the usual UNO-only Java applications, and allows you to interact with various OpenOffice.org components (but is by far most commonly used with Writer and Calc).

Shellp is a shell helper library. It is intended to make it easier to write commandline-based applications. Commands are easy to define, and can be entered interactively or by reading from a file or standard input. If a graphical workspace is available, a Qt-based interface can be used. Otherwise, an ncurses-based one may be used. If the platform doesn't support that, either, reading from a file is still an option.

GRALE is a set of tools - a library and a number of accompanying applications - to study gravitational lenses. Gravitational lenses are astronomical objects so massive that their gravitational pull even deflects light rays. This can cause multiple copies of the same background object to be visible, like a cosmic mirage. The locations and shapes of these copies can provide information about the mass distribution of the gravitational lens, which GRALE can help recover using a genetic algorithm-based method. Apart from these so-called lens inversions, it's also possible to simulate gravitational lenses.

websqlclient (WSQLC or wiskl) is a lightweight HTTP server which allows an end user to access JDBC data sources via automatically-generated data entry screens. It is designed to be used with standard Web browsers and wireless tablet PCs, and is highly configurable. It can connect to any JDBC data source. Its main purpose is to provide rapid data-model-driven development. The websqlclient data entry forms are generated by querying the database system table information, but can be configured manually. websqlclient includes a database-agnostic data loading utility (SQLLoader), a data unloading tool (SQLExport), and SQL scripting capabilities.
