DEMUX Framework enables Java developers to build modular, cross-platform applications which can run on desktop, Web, and mobile and embedded devices. It is based on OSGI and supports creating JavaFX desktop applications, mobiles apps (Android, iOS, Windows), and Web applications.
Red language is a native-code compiled functional, imperative, symbolic, and homoiconic programming language that re-uses most of REBOL's syntax and semantics. Both static and JIT compilation support are planned. A strong emphasis is made on concurrency and both task and data parallelism support using an actor-like abstraction and parallel collections (Scala-like). The target range of usage spreads from low-level system programming (thanks to the built-in Red/System C-level DSL) and embedded systems, up to high-level scripting, with an optional REPL console.
fio is an I/O tool meant to be used both for benchmark and stress/hardware verification. It has support for 13 different types of I/O engines (sync, mmap, libaio, posixaio, SG v3, splice, null, network, syslet, guasi, solarisaio, and more), I/O priorities (for newer Linux kernels), rate I/O, forked or threaded jobs, and much more. It can work on block devices as well as files. fio accepts job descriptions in a simple-to-understand text format. Several example job files are included. fio displays all sorts of I/O performance information, including complete IO latencies and percentiles. Fio is in wide use in many places, for both benchmarking, QA, and verification purposes. It supports Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OS X, OpenSolaris, AIX, HP-UX, and Windows.
Serv-U FTP Server is a Web, mobile device, SFTP, and FTPS file transfer server. It handles hundreds of GBs per day and thousands of users. The advanced Web interface permits transfer of multiple, large files in a single operation. It supports mobile devices including iPad, iPhone, and Android, as well as IPv6, FIPS 140-2, and more.
Janus is a platform designed to deal with the implementation and deployment of holonic and multi-agent systems. It is based on the CRIO organizational metamodel. The concepts of role and organization are supported as first-class entities. Janus provides a comprehensive set of features for developing, running, displaying, and monitoring multi-agent-based applications. The platform also natively manages the concept of recursive agents (holon or agents composed of agents). It can also run threaded and non-threaded agents without using the organizational and holonic API. It provides features equivalent to those of TinyMAS or MadKit.
Yate is a next-generation telephony engine. While currently focused on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and PSTN, its power lies in its ability to be easily extended. It supports SIP, H.323, IAX, MGCP, Jingle, Jabber, E1, T1, analogic, robbed bit, ISDN PRI, BRI, and SS7. YateClient is an Instant Messenger and Voice application for Jabber/Jingle IM, SIP, H.323, and IAX VoIP protocols.
CT-gui is a touch-friendly GUI toolkit which can be used on the Linux desktop and on Android devices. Development can be done quickly and easily on a Linux box, then ported to an Android tablet or phone. For graphics, only OpenGL or OpenGL ES is used. For audio, ALSA is used for Linux and OpenSL ES for Android. As you might expect, the Android SDK and NDK should be installed on your system. Two demo projects called CT-synth and CT-farfisa are included, which are a polyphonic synthesizer with about 20 built-in patches, and an organ with many sounds. These can be played using the mouse or your fingers, or with an attached MIDI keyboard.
SaluSafe is an encrypted email, chat, and file storage and sharing system. Your email and files are highly encrypted end-to-end, and cannot be intercepted by any third party. It was built from the ground up for security via strong cryptography, and is not just another security wrapper on top of an existing email solution.
