The X3D library is used to load an X3D file and render it using OpenGL (an X3D file is an XML file describing a 3D environment that can be rendered with OpenGL.) The library supports all the objects as defined in the X3D specification in 2006. The render library is still somewhat limited, though. It works well under Linux. It is likely to work on any Unix, and has worked under MS Windows before. The project includes a test that makes use of FLTK version 2.0-m3. That version of FLTK can be downloaded from the project repository, as FLTK itself actually ended up not publishing a concrete 2.0 version of the library.
ThinLinc is a fast and versatile remote desktop solution. It is based on open source software such as TigerVNC, SSH, and PulseAudio. The ThinLinc server software can be used to publish Linux/Unix desktops and applications to thin clients. The system also supports Windows Remote Desktop Services and VirtualBox. ThinLinc supports redirection of sound, serial ports, disk drives, local printers, and Smart Card readers. Clients are available for a wide variety of platforms. When used with the VirtualGL software, ThinLinc can deliver high performance graphics with OpenGL applications in a thin client environment.
Project shyknight is a classic-style platforms game like Manic Miner and some others from early 80s. It has very nice and polished, colorful retro graphics, and simple but addictive gameplay. Dandelion is a 3D graph rendering application which can be controlled across a network. Its main purpose is to allow clear network graphs to be rendered in a window, which can be controlled by a separate application or the user. The Dandelion visualization is actually controlled by issuing simple commands to it across the network (although this could all be happening on a single machine). The Dandelion source includes a set of very simple libraries which can be incorporated into other applications and which can be used to send these commands. Libraries are included for C, C#, Java, and Python. The project was developed at Liverpool John Moores University within the PROTECT Centre.
The Ecere SDK is a cross-platform toolkit for building software applications. It currently runs on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X (through X11), FreeBSD, and the Android OS. It should run on other Unix platforms with minor testing/tweaking. With the Ecere SDK, you can develop applications once and deploy them on all supported platforms alongside a lightweight runtime environment. It introduces eC, an object oriented language derived from and fully compatible with C, compromising neither runtime performance nor ease of use. A built-in 3D engine supporting both Direct3D and OpenGL is fully integrated.
GPUMarkerTracker is a tracking software library for AR (augmented reality) markers. It utilizes GPGPU for fast and accurate tracking. It is intended for detecting markers from an HD resolution image so that small markers placed far from the camera can be detected. Each marker has a 12-bit payload with 9-bit CRC. The library does not produce false-positive detection errors of markers, practically.
Memview is a realtime visualization program which shows the memory state of another running program as a graphical image. Memory addresses correspond to pixels in the image, and as memory is accessed, the display will animate to show which parts of the address space are currently being referenced by the program.
