ISO Master is an easy to use GUI CD image editor for Linux, BSD, and Windows. Basically, you can use this program to extract files from an ISO, add files to an ISO, and create bootable ISOs, all in a graphical user interface. It can open both ISO and NRG files, but can only save as ISO. It is based on bkisofs, a library for reading, modifying, and writing ISO images.
DiskSearch is a tool for searching for files on all your removable media disks, including CDs, ZIP disks, and backup tapes. It allows you to search for songs on your MP3 CDs or for a document on your backup DVDs. For advanced queries, a regular expression search mode is provided. Searches are based on a simple database file, which needs to be filled once by adding all your disks to it.
KDE Disk archiver is a disk-based archiving and backup utility. It can perform differential backups, which means that it can quickly store the differences between a recent full backup and the current state of your data. An archive browser easily allows you to view the "table of contents" of your archive. A sophisticated file filtering mechanism allows you to select which files and directories to backup or restore, and which files to compress. The table of contents can be extracted from the archive and used as a reference when making differential backups, which means you don't need your archive CDs handy to do a differential backup of the entire filesystem.
KBackup is a program that lets you back up any directories or files. It uses an easy-to-use directory tree to select the things to back up. The program was designed to be very simple to use so that it can be used by those who are not computer experts. The storage format is the well known tar format, compressed with bzip2 or gzip. It also includes German, French, Italian, and Russian translations for the user interface and English and German translations of the handbook.
