WordPress is a state-of-the-art, semantic, personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, Web standards, and usability. It was born out of a desire for an elegant, well-architected personal publishing system. While primarily geared towards functioning as a Weblog, WordPress is also a flexible CMS capable of managing many types of Web sites. Freeciv is a multiuser reimplementation for Unix/X of the famous Microprose game of Civilization. By default, the game is an improved Civ II, but this can be customized; modpacks for near-100% compatibility with Civ I and Civ II are included. Multiuser gameplay is real-time: in each turn, all human players move concurrently. The game is designed to remain fairly playable even on poor network connections. Freeciv can also be played on standalone machines, and its AI players are a good challenge for beginners. The source code comes with the server, two X clients, and non-X clients for MS Windows and Amiga. Freeciv is released under the GNU General Public License. It is maintained by an international team of coders and enthusiasts, and is easily one of the most fun and addictive network games out there.

The C++ Portable Types Library (PTypes) is a simple alternative to the STL that includes multithreading and networking. It defines dynamic strings, character sets, variants, lists and other basic data types along with threads, synchronization primitives and IP sockets. It is portable across modern Unix and Windows systems and includes a sample HTTP daemon showing the full power of the library.

bandwidthd tracks usage of TCP/IP network subnets and builds HTML files with graphs to display network utilization. Charts are built by individual IP to show their utilization over 2, 8, 45, and 400 day periods. It color codes HTTP, HTTPS, TCP,UDP, ICMP, VPN, and P2P traffic. Unlike MRTG, it tracks each individual IP address and subnets, not the status of any particular link. Static mode is fast and easy to set up and has few dependencies. Database mode supports filtering by subnet, multiple sensors, custom reports and intervals, and can process thousands of IPs efficiently. Network utilization can be logged in CDF or a backend database.

dbf is an easy-to-use command line tool to show and convert the content of dBASE III, IV, and 5.0 files, as well as of FoxBase and Visual FoxPro. It reads xBASE-compatible databases and prints the content to the screen or converts it to comma-separated (*.csv) files which can be opened in Excel, StarOffice, and most other spread sheets. It can also be used to show some statistics about the content.

PHPCoder is a Web-based frontend to the Turck MMCache encoding functions, which are similar to the Zend Encoder product. PHPCoder enables you to encode your PHP scripts and applications into non-reversible bytecode, thus preventing users of your programs from viewing or altering the source code while having full functionality. Another excellent use for PHPCoder is to encode your applications PHP configuration files, that way someone viewing your source code does not see your databae login and password information. It also allows you to set restrictions on the encoded scripts, you can lock a script to a particular server IP address, server host name, visitor IP, or even place a time limit on the script so it will expire after a configurable amount of time. You specify Text, HTML, or PHP code that should be prepended and appended to each file before it is encoded, allowing you to easily and securely implement your own licensing scheme.
