Netmonitor is a console application that monitors network interfaces. It displays the transfer rate (upload and download) for each device and the data consumed by each device. The main features of netmonitor are low resource usage, a simple yet effective design, and an easy to understand tabular output. It displays values whose units change dynamically to scale with the value. Its compact display fits in a 9x66 size terminal window.
strongSwan is a complete IPsec implementation for the Linux, Android, Maemo, FreeBSD, and Mac OS X operating systems. It interoperates with with most other IPsec-based VPN products via the IKEv2 or IKEv1 key exchange protocols. The focus of the strongSwan project is on strong authentication mechanisms using X.509 public key certificates and optional secure storage of private keys on smartcards through a standardized PKCS#11 interface. A rich choice of modular plugins adds additional features like Trusted Network Connect or advanced cryptographical algorithms.
Bwmeas continuously measures the number of packets and the number of bytes that are received in a specified time interval and can compute and print the average bandwidth. You can specify the traffic you want to monitor using a filter in the same bpf format used by tcpdump and Ethereal. The output can be generated in "comma separated values" (CSV) format and can easily be imported for post-processing into a wide range of tools.
Network-I is a network analyzer, comprising a fast sniffer (niftap) with a powerful filtering language and a suite of tools to process the captured packets. The possibilities range from the straightforward display of captured packets in exhaustive detail (or alternatively, as one-line summaries) to measurement of traffic rates (which can be recorded to file or displayed in real-time via the GUI) and automated reports on packet retransmissions and losses.
mod_cband is an Apache 2 module that solves the problem of limiting the bandwidth usage of users, virtual hosts, and destinations. When the configured transfer limit is exceeded, mod_cband will redirect all further requests to a location specified in the configuration file. The module can also limit download speeds and maximal requests per second for virtualhosts, users, and remote clients.
Mobi is general purpose Bluetooth remote control software which exploits the SonyEricsson accessory interface. It searches for phones and, if found, loads a configurable menu into the phone which allows you to perform custom actions on the connected computer, such as requesting status information or playing music.
HTTPTunnel is a simple client/server application for creating an HTTP tunnel between two machines, optionally via a Web proxy. This tunnel can then be used to wrap arbitrary TCP socket traffic in HTTP, thus allowing communications even through a restrictive firewall that only allows outgoing HTTP connections.
Stone is an application layer TCP/IP packet repeater. It repeats TCP and UDP packets from the inside of a firewall to the outside or vice versa. It is simple, supports OpenSSL for encrypting and decrypting packets, performing client and server verifications, and sending a substring of the subject of the certificate to the destination, can operate as an HTTP proxy, and performs POP to APOP conversion. It also supports IPv6 and can convert between IPv4 and IPv6 each other.
