hwloc provides command line tools and a C API to obtain the hierarchical map of key computing elements, such as: NUMA memory nodes, shared caches, processor sockets, processor cores, and processor "threads". hwloc also gathers various attributes such as cache and memory information, and is portable across a variety of different operating systems and platforms. hwloc primarily aims at helping high-performance computing (HPC) applications, but is also applicable to any project seeking to exploit code and/or data locality on modern computing platforms.
Perform a variety of functions on PDF files. These include (but are not limited to) adding page numbers, stamps, merging, overlay, extracting pages, extract/fill-in field data, extracting/replacing/resizing images, highlighting text, extracting/editing bookmarks, SMTP emailing the output, adding/extracting attachments, resizing pages, and encryption/password protection. This is a compiled command line program that runs stand alone.
TFORMer is a versatile barcode label printing and reporting program. It provides a uniform solution for creating all types of documents like labels, forms, serial letters, lists, and reports. TFORMer is used on workstations, as a server-based output system or as a report generator SDK. Documents are created with the graphical layout editor TFORMer Designer. For printing purposes, data is entered manually or imported from databases or files. Templates for compliance labeling (e.g. AIAG, VDA, DHL, GS1, etc.) reduce design efforts significantly. For software developers, the output functionality is available with TFORMer Runtime. This cross-platform reporting SDK supports all types of barcodes, direct printing, PostScript, HTML, ZPL-II, and image and PDF creation. It integrates perfectly into client and server solutions. APIs are available for .NET, DLL, COM, and Java.
tzls and tzx are commandline utilities for quickly unpacking or listing the contents of various types of common Unix archive files, which may be compressed in any of several ways. The supported compression types are bzip2, gzip, and compress. The supported archive types are tar, cpio, zip, rar, and arj. The tools are implemented as shell scripts, so no compilation is required.
fff and ffl are tools for searching for files and directories from the Unix shell with more integrated "shell-like" behaviour and simpler syntax than find(1), though find(1) is still used to perform the actual searches. In particular, there is no need to quote wildcards, and searches are case-insensitive. Matching results are shown one per line. fff displays full paths, and ffl relative paths. Detailed find(1) options can be appended to the fff/ffl command line if desired. These utilities are based entirely on shell aliases and functions, so no compliation is required.
PBZIP2 is a parallel implementation of the bzip2 block-sorting file compressor that uses pthreads and achieves near-linear speedup on SMP machines. The output of this version is fully compatible with bzip2 1.0.2 or newer (ie: anything compressed with PBZIP2 can be decompressed with bzip2).
Xi-Batch is a very flexible job scheduling and workload management system. It provides time-based scheduling as well as load management, dependency-based job execution, and job prioritization. Each job's environment (environment variables and I/O default paths) is established by the system based on user ID. It can manage jobs in a single server or across a network of any number of servers, even different UNIX/Linux platforms. It can be controlled by CLI, a GUI (Motif), A Windows client, a Web-browser, or through an API. It works as an intelligent job dispatcher in grids or other server clusters.
